You'll start the adventure by rafting down the Copalita River. Your instructor will teach you how to easily row together as a team, making this a fun, collaborative descent. Continue the journey by visiting one of the main beaches in the area, La Entrega. At this beautiful beach, you'll be able to do the second activity, snorkelling. Have lunch and taste some local specialties such as tlayudas, a toasted tortilla covered with refried beans and fresh toppings, also known as an Oaxaca pizza. Try memelas, a type of toasted cake made of masa with toppings, and tasajo, a special dried beef cooked over a wood fire. Finally, arrive back in Oaxaca and appreciate the last few moments of an exceptional day.

Upon arrival, you will be offered fruit water infusions and a variety of regional, locally harvested fresh fruits to taste. Then follow the trail into the park to discover waterfalls, rivers and around 20 thousand different species of plants and exotic flowers. Located 260 meters above sea level in the Oaxacan mountains, you will find yourself surrounded by the diverse flora and fauna of the park. Read the illustrated signs along the path to learn more about the nature around you and local, organic fruit farming. After your walk, refresh with a cooling dip in the Magdalena River and admire the "Cascada de la Campana" waterfall. This is an experience for all five senses. If you’re up for a little more adventure, select the Premium Ziplining option for bird’s eye views as you fly through the park. There are 5 Ziplines separated by platforms built into the trees ranging from 50-100 meters in height with a total length of 2.5 kilometres.

6. Puerto Escondido: Lagunas de Chacahua Day Trip and Boat Ride

We will pick you up at 1:00 pm from your hotel and travel north for about 1 hour until we reach the small fishing village of Zapotalito. Here you will enjoy a boat tour through the lagoons, learning about 5 islands and going through small channels made of mangroves. You will get to see birds throughout the trip and enjoy the amazing landscapes that the National park offers. On arrival you will be able to order a delicious meal and have a swim in the crystal clear waters of Chacahua. After this, you will take a small hike to the “Arc of Love”, on this beach you will experience an amazing sunset. You will then return to the boat at around 8:00 pm to enjoy a boat trip back to Zapotalito, along the way you will stop to see the “Bioluminescence”, having time to swim in it if you wish. Finally we will head back to our land transport, which will take us back to Puerto Escondido arriving at around 10:00 pm.

7. From Puerto Escondido: Birdwatching on a Boat

Start the tour with pick up from the lobby of your hotel in Puerto Escondido. Then, set off on an adventure to Manialtepec Lagoon in 'Las Negras' town where a boat will be waiting for you. Climb aboard and begin exploring the lagoon and its wonderful natural refuge of migratory and local birds. Navigate through the dense vegetation so you can see the different kinds of mangroves. After 2 hours of sailing, reach the end of the lagoon where you can observe the union of the river, the sea and the lagoon - an impressive view. Next, sail up the Manialtepec River until you will arrive at Puerto Suelo, a beautiful beach where you can disembark to take a walk, swim or enjoy a delicious meal in the palapas. After approximately 1.5 hours of exploring here, take the boat to go back to the community. Here, a van will be waiting to return you to Puerto Escondido.
