With the favorable currants of the river, paddle gently down the river listening to the pleasant birdlife around you. Only accessible by boat, you will find peace in this serene, quiet setting. Doi Suthep National Park: Beginner Downhill Bike Ride

4. Doi Suthep National Park: Beginner Downhill Bike Ride

This tour offers the most scenic and popular downhill mountain bike ride in Chiang Mai. Your day kicks off with transfer from your hotel at 9:30 AM and a comprehensive safety and bike fit-out briefing. After a 45-minute drive to the top of Doi Pui Mountain, you’ll take a short test ride to get comfortable with the equipment.   Finally ready, you’ll head off towards Hill Top Coffee Plantation along a small jeep track. There will be plenty of fantastic viewpoints for rest stops and lightly mixed terrain to challenge you as your ride continues down towards Lake Huay Tueng Tao at the base of the mountain. Arriving at the lake, you’ll enjoy a dip if you like, a well-deserved meal and amazing views of the mountain that just gave you an awesome 3+ hour mountain bike descent adventure. What a great day! My wife and I were lucky to be the only guests on today’s tour and had a super day with our guide (Danai?) who was very knowledgeable, funny and spoke a very good English. We saw several temples, the Hmong-village, a waterfall and a lot of jungle and great views. For 100 bath extra per person we got to MTB the 16 km down the mountain and finished the tour off with a late lunch (around 4pm) in a great vegetarian place in Old Town. A good breakfast before the hike and a few power bars and cashews that we brought as snacks was plenty to keep us going all day. The hike is not for beginners in flip-flops but absolutely doable. The guide brings water and you can borrow comfortable bag packs. We highly recommend this tour! Go to Thailand now - they need you!

We’re a bit frustrated cause it seemed like all the tours just drive you to the summit or temple for the photo op and then drive you back down since we wanted to actually hike up the mountain but then we found this one and it was probably our favourite day in the north. Danai was super nice and you could tell that he loves nature and hiking. It was definitely a tough climb but soo worth it! You don’t only have amazing views if it’s not too misty but also hike through so many different types of forests. If you’re looking for a real hike off the paved roads then this is it. Thank you so much for an amazing day

Being over 60 and not super fit I was worried that it would be too much for me. But I had a great ride down the mountain. However, one person did not have the fitness level or the required skills and balance to ride the bike down the sometimes steep and slippery section. They had to be picked up by 4WD. I would suggest, consider you limits, but be willing to push them. Do this trip and be rewarded with a great ride down the mountain.

Such a wonderful day! I got to see a lot of the country side. Paul my guide was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was very careful and really paid attention to safety. The bikes were of excellent condition, and as it was an e-bike I could easily adapt the pace as well as the level of difficulty. Nice refreshments at the end of the tour. Also the pick-up and drop-off were great.

Great hike. Noodles and coffee at the top is great after a long hike
