2. Uluru: Aboriginal Art & Culture Experience

First, get collected from your accommodation in an air-conditioned luxury coach and head into Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. When you arrive, meet your Aboriginal Guide and interpreter from the local Mutitjulu community.  Next, get up close to Uluru with your Anangu guide who will be telling you the stories of this unique landscape and explain the connection between the art, the culture and the connection to the land. Then, head over to the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Listen to how traditional hunting and gathering tools were made and what they were used for. Even join a bowl carrying or spear-throwing session to test your skills and balance! Follow this with a hands-on painting session. Learn about the symbols and painting styles used to create beautiful works of art depicting the Creation time (Tjukurpa) stories. Bring a personal connection to the experience and paint using the knowledge you've gained during the morning with your guide. Take your painting home as a memento of your experience.  Finally, return back to your hotel where your tour concludes.

Departing from the meeting point in Raintree Park, begin the 2-hour guided tour as you walk the paths of pioneers. Your guide will cheerfully share their passion for the town they call home as they share its history including World War II bombings, Cyclone Tracy, and toady's multicultural atmosphere.  Discover many of the remaining buildings such as the old courthouse and police station, Brown's Mart theater, and the Palmerston Town Hall ruins, all of which have been painstakingly reconstructed. The day is Thursday the 19th of February, 1942. World War II has reached mainland Australia, and as a result, the Northern City of Darwin is bombed.  Move forward to present day Darwin, where you can embark on a tour that will allow you to relive that fateful and mournful day. Your friendly and informative guide will take you back to that WWII era on a 2-hour walk through the historic quarter of the city. Listen as your guide shares stories of that fateful day whilst you meander past the historic buildings of the time which have been re-built to provide lasting memories of life in the North during the War. This tour departs on a Thursday only, in memory of that fateful day in 1942.
