Alice Springs: Early Morning Hot Air Balloon Flight

2. Alice Springs: Early Morning Hot Air Balloon Flight

Your ballooning adventure begins in the cool pre-dawn darkness as you are picked up from your accommodation in Alice Springs. During the drive to the desert launch site you will get to know the crew as they make final weather checks and explain the routine for the morning. At the launch site gas burners are used to inflate the balloons just as the sun lights up the rugged MacDonnell Ranges. Once floating gently in the air you will appreciate the vast remoteness of the Australian outback. Wildlife, particularly big red kangaroos are seen nearly every day as the balloon floats above spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and cattle stations. After landing, enjoy a program designed to allow you a unique opportunity to experience the Australia bush. Most landings are in the desert, kilometers away from the nearest road. There is no traffic, no other people and no noise. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of sparkling Australian wine or if you prefer some tropical apple and guava juice. Perhaps mix the two for a delightful morning cocktail. Drinks are accompanied by a variety of muffins, biscuits, slices of cheese and fresh fruit. It's the perfect mix to enjoy before reboarding your bus to return to “town”.

What people are saying about Northern Territory

Must do! Was brilliant, Pilot was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of information. My second time to Uluru and it was a totally different point of view of the rock and the area surrounding. The lady who picked us up and ran through safety etc was awesome, so polite yet a true Aussie. Airconditioned transport van, airconditioned office for demo/safety video, chopper was warm but couldn't avoid that and for 15 mins in warmth with a view like that, I couldn't complain. Worth booking a flight and would book with them again in a heartbeat.

From pick up to drop off these guys were fantastically friendly, great craic and any questions answered (no matter how silly). The experience offers some amazing views that give both sites a completely different perspective than just walking around. If you’ve never been in a helicopter before, don’t worry, it’s probably the smoothest helicopter ride I’ve ever had, highly recommended

What a awesome trip, from TJ picking us up from Ayers Rock Campground and then Lochie taking us on our flight and very informative about Uluru and Kata Tjuta, and knowledge of the surrounding land. We would definitely use them again as we still have to go to Kings Canyon and a flight over would be just awesome.

Fantastic / perfect weather too / felt safe / amazing to see the Rocks from the air and the patterns created by the landscape

Short and sweet The pilot John and the attendants were all very nice and helpful. Great trip. Sanjay
