The park is commonly known for its remarkable elephant population. Follow big cats across the wilderness, edge up to herds of elephants, buffalo and giraffes, and cruise down the Chobe River for water-based wildlife encounters. The day trip to Chobe takes you deep into Botswana’s big game country, a vast and diverse terrain that supports a huge assortment of creatures. The drive from Victoria Falls to the park takes just over an hour, and the day trip includes pickup and drop-off from your hotel in Zimbabwe. Getting into the park early increases your chances of seeing lions and other wildlife that are less active in the heat of the day. The game drive into Chobe National Park will start soon after the gates open. Your driver will be a professional guide with extensive knowledge of the park and its inhabitants. The park is especially known for its massive elephant population, huge array of bird species, and big cats such as lion and leopard. You will discover some of the park’s distinct ecosystems with dense woodland, extensive savannahs, and rolling grasslands while traveling along the Caprivi floodplains. Once all immigration processes are complete, hit the road to spend the day exploring Victoria Falls, known by the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya — "The Smoke That Thunders." If you don’t have the time to spend the night, then this activity is perfect for you – departing from Maun at the crack of dawn on a safari vehicle, you’ll head out to the reserve with your guide.   Moremi Game Reserve is home to some of the world’s greatest species of wildlife, and is excellent for game viewing and bird watching. The park contains all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and has over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. As well, both Black and White Rhino, while rare to spot, have been recently re-introduced, making this reserve a “Big Five” destination (meaning it contains lions, leopards, rhinoceros, elephants, and Cape buffalo).   Enjoy a break in the middle for a light lunch before you continue on your exploration, passing around lagoons and pools along the river channels as well as some flat plains.
