Full description

Be the first of the day to discover two of New York’s most iconic monuments with exclusive first ferry tour departure to Liberty Island, including a visit to the Statue of Liberty Museum and Ellis Island. Watch American history come to life with the only tour operator that runs ferries this early. Arrive at the grounds just under the watchful eye of Lady Liberty, where great views across NYC's skyline, Lower Manhattan, and the Big Apple await. Then, board the city's earliest ferry to Ellis Island (early morning tour only), ensuring you avoid the swelling afternoon crowds.

Follow in the footsteps of some 12 million immigrants and learn about the process those hopeful individuals went through to settle in America. View and walk the Stairs of Separation, growing to understand the Island's two very unique names - "The Island of Hope" and "The Island of Tears". After your guide has explained to you the history, they will give you the option to continue your exploration of Ellis Island on your own with the audio guide (included) or return to The Battery on the ferry with them. If you wish, feel free to stay on Ellis Island a bit longer to explore your personal heritage and find all the unique and interesting sights in the special location.

The tour was good. The guide was good but not exceptional. Kathryn is certainly knowledgeable but it felt like she had some reservations. The Ellis Island part of the tour did not even take us into the terminal. We just sat on the stairs and the guide gave us very general information about the immigrants and the history. Make sure you get the tickets tot he Statue of Liberty couple of weeks ahead of the tour.

Sarah made the relatively expensive tour for our family of 6 people worth every penny. (16 total in the group). She was not only incredibly brilliant in her history facts but funny, engaging and was able to connect with our four granddaughters ages 11 through 14. Sarah's account of the history of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was interesting and full of facts without being boring. She shared some short interesting snippets of her family history and personal life as it pertained to history which entertained us all. I would highly recommend the for hour tour from Battery Park Pier to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as a must do in NYC. The overall organization of the tour meeting place and Ferry to the islands were well executed.

Very interesting and moving but if you don't understand English well then take an audio guide and leave the group when you are on the boat as the guide makes no effort to be understood. On the other hand, it is unfortunate not to be able to take the option to visit the pedestal in the first visit in the morning. For the rest the reservation by Guet Your Guide is perfect. No waiting, reminder on your phone, route by GPS..
