Start the tour at 9 AM with pick-up from your hotel. After a 5 minute drive,  set out on a hike through the beautiful Rose Valley which will take just over an hour. Pass by fairy-chimneys, local farms, pigeon houses, and rock-hewn cave chapels. Admire the wonderful range of rose-colored hues in the valley which change in intensity depending on the season, time of day, and weather conditions. Learn about the history and the unique formations of Cappadocia during the hike from your guide. Ah the end of the hike, make a quick stop at the picturesque old Cavusin cave village. Then head to Monks Valley (Pasabag), where you will see the mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys and St. Simeon's monk cell. Then, drive to Goreme for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the Kaymaklı underground city, the first and most popular underground city in Cappadocia. Discover how this complex carved underground was used for hundreds of years by locals to hide from Romans, Persians, and Maurs. Learn about the rich history and cultural heritage of the region and visit the most important sights. Get picked up from your hotel between 9:30 am and 10:00 am and head to a panoramic viewpoint. Take in the stunning views of Göreme village and the characteristic fairy chimneys while your guide provides you with an informative introduction to the natural landscape and the history of the area. Make a stop at Pigeon Valley and marvel at the hundreds of pigeon dwellings carved into the rock faces. Next, visit the Göreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which features Cappadocia's most impressive rock-cut churches. Admire the frescoes and wall paintings that date back to 11th and 12th centuries.  Continue on to Avanos, a town famous for its long tradition of pottery art dating back to 2000 B.C. From there it's on to Paşabağları or Monks Valley, known to have the best fairy chimneys in all of Cappadocia. Make one last stop for fairy chimneys at Devrent Valley and check out the animal-shaped rock formations. See which animal shapes you can spot before heading back to your hotel.

Detailed Itinerary Day 1 (Meals: lunch) You’ll be picked up at your accommodation at 09:15AM and head out on the first day of your Cappadocia tour. The hike will end in Cavusin Cave Village, where you will see a rock castle and troglodyte dwellings where people lived until the 20th century. The Kaymakli Underground City is one of the largest and deepest of Cappadocia’s many such settlements. This city is approximately 40 meters deep and contains all the usual rooms found in an underground city (stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, wineries etc.). End the day with a visit to the Pigeon Valley and have a spectacular view of dovecotes, old abandoned cave homes and old Greek houses of Uchisar.

Departing from your hotel in Cappadocia, head to Derinkuyu underground city which is located in a town of the same name; Derinkuyu. There are about 600 outside doors to the city, hidden in the courtyards of surface dwellings. The underground city is approximately 85m deep. It contains all the usual rooms found in an underground city such as stables, churches, and wineries. Travel through the stunning Ihlara Valley near Mount Hasan and Mount Melendiz, two of Cappadocia's three volcanoes. The valley is a canyon with a depth of approximately 100m and was formed by the Melendiz River thousands of years ago. It is believed that the valley housed more than four thousand dwellings and a hundred cave churches decorated with frescoes.  Conclude your tour with a visit to the Selime Monastery at Selime village, the last stop of the Ihlara Valley, before making your way back to the hotel.

After your guide’s introduction to Cappadocia at the Goreme panoramic viewpoint, you will drive 1 hour to discover the most spectacular gorge in Turkey, Ihlara. Take a peaceful 6km hike through the Ihlara Valley where you will see the Melendiz River. Pass Byzantine rock chapels decorated with frescoes and have lunch in a riverside restaurant in the Belisirma village. After lunch, you will see the biggest rock-cut monastery of Cappadocia, Selime Monastery and Cathedral. Then, head underground where the magnificent city of Derinkuyu lies. One of the biggest settlements in Cappadocia, this 8-story underground city is the deepest of the region. Explore the caves of this city as your guide informs you of its fascinating history. Starting at 9.30am, you will arrive back at your accommodations at around 17:00.
