Mustafá was our guide for the day. He was passionate about the place and made sure we heard the history and understand Fes better. We went to a few workshops to see the traditional crafts. There was no hard sell, all was very pleasant. It was pretty sure the places we were brought to were all genuine and top quality. I had no worries about buying a few hand crafted items. It was Ramadan, but the places were bustling with tourist and Mustafá kept his energy, the tour ended up 8 hours long, but we were arranged to have lunch in a typical restaurant, so not feeling tired. I feel this tour is extremely well organised and good value.
The excursion was very good and given the nature of Fes it makes sense to do a tour with a guide. Mustafa was very good with us and showed us a lot. The only drawback is perhaps that you are also taken to shops. To a certain extent, this is ok and understandable. People live by spending their money there. But it's also interesting to see how hard the people in the background work to ensure that the medina is so full of great things. That's why I think 5 stars are appropriate despite the shortcomings
A guide is essential to make sense of the Medina, so this tour (or a similar one) is a must. Our guide Mustafa was knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We visited a lot of shops but this is a big part of life in this part of town and the information we got there wasn’t boring or only intended to push us into buying stuff. Would recommend to do this on day one in Fes.
This was the most memorable experience of our trip! Rachid was the best tour guide and truly treated us like family. We were more than happy with our experience and would 1000% recommend to anyone interested in getting an intimate and informative tour of the beautiful city of Fes.
