Full description
Enjoy a tour of contrasts on a combined 8-hour day trip from Naples to Pompeii and Capri. Stroll around the ruins of a former city of the Roman Empire, and then join the jet set on a glittering jewel of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Following a pick-up from your hotel in Naples (main hotels only), or from the Cruise Terminal or Napoli Centrale train station, drive to Pompeii, approximately 25 minutes along the highway. Upon arrival, an archaeologist guide will lead you around the site after your skip-the-line entrance. See the most significant buildings to build a picture of life in the Roman Republic, such as theaters, the Forum, Stabian Baths, House of the Faun, and House of the Tragic Poet. Return to Naples and climb aboard a hydrofoil for a 45-minute sea crossing to the island of Capri. Here, your guide will take you to the funicular that leads uphill through lemon groves from Marina Grande to the Piazzetta (nicknamed "The Little Theater of the World"). Enjoy some free time to shop, and stop for a coffee at the Gran Caffè Vuotto. Wander the narrow streets to find boutique fashion stores and local craft shops. Enjoy panoramic views from the belvedere of the Gardens of Augustus. Look across at sights such as Via Krupp, Mount Solaro, the Bay of Marina Piccola, and the Faraglioni sea stacks of Capri. Return to the funicular to board the hydrofoil back to the port of Naples. From the port, cruise passengers can walk back to their cruise ship, while hotel guests will be transferred by minivan to their hotels.

We had a wonderful time and was very good taken care of by our guide, Veronica. She was filled with knowledge about the history and so willing to support us in our need for a place to put our luggage while in Capri. Both Capri and Pompeii was a great experience for us both and our guide in Pompeii - I don't remember his name - was also a great guide. All in all, we are very pleased and would absolutely recommend GetyourGuide.

Capri beautiful, Pompeii very interesting.

The activity in general is good, but for summer days with high temperatures you should go first to Pompeii in the morning and then in the afternoon to Pompeii, especially when the air conditioning of the truck that transports you to Pompeii at 2:30 p.m. It works and transforms into a coffee maker on the route at 34 degrees. The rest is correct, sakvo for the audio guide for the Spanish who had no battery and therefore did not work in Pompeii. The water they provide is at room temperature and not cold as it should be for high summer temperatures. The explanations of the guide in Pompeii, although only in English, were very interesting. The route can be complicated for people with motor problems because the streets of Pompeii are made of stone. In addition, it is necessary to provide sunscreen because there is little shade in the tour of Pompeii.
