Full description

Discover downtown Naples and explore the San Severo Chapel on a guided walking tour. Follow your guide through the lively Spaccanapoli street and admire highlights, including San Domenico Maggiore.

Begin at Piazza Bellini to see the remains of ancient Greek walls. Continue to Piazza del Gesù, one of the most famous squares of the city a few steps away from the historical center.

Visit Spaccanapoli, a long and narrow street that divides the old Naples into two halves with shops, restaurants, and alleys. Be amazed by the San Domenico Maggiore church with a perfect overlapping of different architectural styles and the pearl of Naples, the Chapel San Severo.

See the famous statue of the God of Nile river, Piazza St. Gaetano, and the churches of Naples, San Lorenzo, and San Paolo Maggiore. See the 13th-century baroque cathedral of Saint Gennaro at the heart of the Neapolitan faith. Here the blood of the saint patron St. Gennaro is preserved.

There were only 2 couples plus the guide Ivan. The first stop was Chiesa Del Gesu Nuovo which regardless of your faith is a spectacular building (Church no 1). The next stop was Affresco del Cristo rosso church which is a more reserved church (Church no 2). We wandered the streets of the old town visiting various piazzas and the university area. The next church was Basilica Parrocchiale San Lorenzo Maggiore Naples church which ranks between the first two as far as grandness (Church no 3). Some more wandering until we arrived at the Sansevero Chapel and the Veiled Christ (Church no 4). Ivan provided good information. The main problem was that when we finished we were not where we had started and was temporarily lost until was worked out where we were on Google maps.

Come direbbe mia nipote, tanta roba. Ancora grazie.
