From Nairobi: Lakes Nakuru & Naivasha National Park Day Tour

1. From Nairobi: Lakes Nakuru & Naivasha National Park Day Tour

Your adventure begins at 6:00 AM with pickup in Nairobi. From there you'll head straight to Lake Nakuru National Park. The Lake is renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species at times. There can be up to two million greater and lesser flamingoes and tens of thousands of other birds at Lake Nakuru. As a result the park is referred to as the "Birds' Paradise". The National Park is also a rhino sanctuary with excellent wildlife viewing. You'll enjoy wildlife viewing as soon as you enter the park gates, and when it's time for lunch, you'll stop at the lodge where you can purchase a meal at a local restaurant.  After lunch, continue to enjoy wildlife viewing on the drive out of the park. You'll leave the park at approximately 3:00 PM and head to Lake Naivasha for an optional 1-hour boat ride. If you'd like to include the boat ride, be sure to select the correct option when making your booking. On the boat ride, enjoy bird watching, eagle feeding, and hippo viewing. At the end of the boat ride, you'll head back to Nairobi for a 6:00 PM arrival.

Nairobi: Crescent Island Naivasha Day Tour

2. Nairobi: Crescent Island Naivasha Day Tour

Your tour will begin as you are picked up from your hotel early in the morning, at which point you will drive to Lake Naivasha. On the way to the lake, you will have one stop at the great Rift Valley view point for a photography break. Once having arrived, you will begin with a boat ride, riding in a speed boat for an hour to view wild animals. The boat will then drop you at the island, where you will be welcomed by your guides before proceeding for a walking tour. You will be able to get close to friendly wild animals with well trained guides leading you, with more animals per acre here than any other Kenyan Park. You will discover that hippos graze all over at night, and sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. Following your guided tour, the boat will come to collect you before taking you back to the pier, from where you will depart for Nairobi.

What people are saying about Naivasha

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Lake Nakuru was beautiful and the flamingos and pelicans were impressive, in terms of their numbers and just watching their entertaining behaviours. The other animals in the reserve were an absolute bonus. tue boat ride on Lake Navaisha did not disappoint - we saw 2 different families of hippos, lots of bird life and other wildlife. Steven was an excellent driver and guide and we would love to travel with him again. I would just recommend to take snacks/food and water for the day - we chose to skip a formal lunch break so that we had more time to spend watching the wildlife - so glad that we did!

We had a fantastic day out in nature and saw some amazing animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had an issue with out vouchers on entry to the park which caused a delay by around half an hour waiting in the Jeep. It didn’t overshadow our enjoyment of the day though and I would recommend this trip to others who want to see as much wildlife as possible in a tour not too far from Nairobi.

Great experience, Nakuru is close to Nairobi and I saw so many animals. I went there for flamingos and I was not disappointed! Also the route is very scenic, so worth the 3 hours driving. Stephen was a great driver and guide and Gracepatt a very flexible and responsible agency. Fully recommended!

Stephen is a very nice guide. Lake Naivasha is accessible only if you go on a boat trip, so make sure you organize your time accordingly.
