Start with pickup from your hotel in Nairobi and travel to the Giraffe Centre, located approximately 20 kilometers from the city. The centre is the headquarters for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife made famous by "Daisy Rothschild", a giraffe calf rescued from Soi, on the Western Kenya border. Daisy and her family form only a small part of a herd of these gentle giants, living in a semi-wild state at Giraffe Manor. Get up close the giraffes when they make their protecting wall to be fed. Learn about the conservation efforts undertaken at the centre to protect these majestic animals. Next experience a small part of Kenya's colonial history. Visit Mbogani House, home to author Karen Blixen, which made famous by the film Out of Africa. The house has been restored by the Danish Community of Kenya and is one of the National Museums of Kenya. Learn about Karen Blixen's time in Kenya, and the story behind her famous novel and film.

What people are saying about Nairobi

We liked the individual excursion.

Pick-up from the hotel, unfortunately 45 minutes to the city due to rush hour traffic. Afterwards discussions with the driver what we want to see, therefore individual design. We decided to walk around the city center, make good decisions, move forward quickly and experience the city with the people first hand. The lunch with the grill specialties was very tasty. A good tour for the price. They wanted $ 150 per person through the local travel agency. Points deducted for an older car without air conditioning.

Great start for our Kenya trip!

We enjoyed the tour! Our guide was friendly and happy to answer all our questions, and showed us around Nairobi. For Carnivore, don't lower your flag until you've tasted at least 8 different animals!

Saw a lot in a short amount of time

Needed a bit more time at the museum but ran out of time because we requested a stop at a market we passed. We had not realized that it was not the market that is part of the tour.

Great 1 day trip

Lake Naivasha, boat trip, Cresent Island and Elsemere were wonderful to visit.
