Full description
Following early morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi, journey for approximately 45 minutes to an animal orphanage in a secluded area of Nairobi National Park. Upon arrival, meet the orphaned baby elephants and other animals that are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists. At 11:00, the baby animals are brought from the national park for a mud bath at the orphanage. Get up close to them and benefit from the chance to touch them. You can even watch the handlers feed them during a 1-hour session (advance booking required). Then, listen to a talk about the elephants from the handlers. Go to the Giraffe Centre in the Lang'ata suburb of Nairobi, and get up close to the animals. Learn about the work of the sanctuary, and hand feed the giraffes from a raised observation platform before the return journey to Nairobi where you will get dropped off at your hotel at around 15:00.

The tour was good, however, before entering the elephant sanctuary, I was told we had to stop for an hour, since the elephant center opened at 11 (which was true). However, the giraffe center was open, so we could have just done that one first. Instead, the driver took me to the Masai market (it all looked super staged for tourists), where I was the only customer walking around and being followed at all times by someone trying to convince me to buy things. So I got a couple of extremely overpriced bracelets, since I really felt pushed. Since this is a paid activity, I wouldn’t expect those "on commission" things. I know that people are trying to make a living, but the approach made me feel uncomfortable. When it comes to the driver, he was friendly and everything went well.

Super good and exciting trip. Only "complaint" is that the driver was an hour late, but what, it's Kenya, so that's probably how it is
