Amsterdam: Private or Public Walking Tour

3. Amsterdam: Private or Public Walking Tour

Enjoy a 1.5 hour private or public walking tour of Amsterdam with a small (private) group of maximum four travelers and a guide. The small group size makes it easy to explore this gorgeous but busy city and enhances the feeling of escaping mass tourism. Learn about the city's interesting history and cultural life. You will certainly be impressed by the city's architectural beauty with static and imposing canal houses, its people and its relaxed, open-minded atmosphere. The easiest way and place to meet your guide is at the National Monument on Dam (Dam Square) since you truly cannot overlook the giant white pillar. Dam is the heart of the city and the place where the Amsterdammers built a dam over the river. Because this is where the city originated one could say that this is where all the magic happened. Visit less touristy places that you wouldn't do alone

Our guide Joyce was changed at the last moment, following the cancellation of the visit by her. Erika replaced her at the last moment, on a public holiday. Erika is not Dutch, but has lived in Amsterdam for a few years, with a very good knowledge of the city, its history, its culture. Erika considering that the most touristic places can be done without a guide (museums, Dam Square, Red light, A'dam tower, Vondelpark, shopping streets ...), Erika offered us a global view of the city and of its history, then took us to less touristy areas but very popular with locals (northern areas by ferry, roof of the Nemo museum, quiet and magnificent Jordaan district ... all that, without counting its time: 3h45 of visit! A guide love, exciting, a rewarding visit.

Our guide Nigel in Nuenen did a fabulous job as our guide. I enjoyed the lovely walk in the beautiful countryside while learning about the interesting life and times of VanGogh. Our driver was helpful and friendly. The VanGogh museum was a spectacular end to the day where we saw a immense amount of beautiful paintings by VanGogh and other great artists related to him. VanGogh was a genius who was too beautiful for this world! I am so happy I was privileged to have this awesome experience with my son Christian.

This was an amazing tour with Helena. We saw parts of Amsterdam we probably would not have seen, she gave great insights and wonderful recommendations. Anyone who gets the chance to have the tour with her is lucky. We had wonderful conversations with her, bought some art and enjoyed the tour to the fullest. We were the only ones that day and she was super flexible and attentive on what we were interested and wanted to see in Amsterdam. Great tour if you want to see a different side of Amsterdam.

Wonderful guided tour with Helena. Saw so much stuff in a couple of hours.

Jacques at Nuenes and Bram the driver were excellent guides !!

Exceptionally good guides and we had a rollicking time.
