A wonderful museum! In addition to Rodin’s sculpture, they also have a collection of paintings (including Monets and Van Goghs) and a beautiful topiary garden. More intimate and less crowded than many other venues, this turned out to be one of my favorite museums of my trip.

Rodin's most famous work -- the Gates of Hell -- is a sculpture made up of many other sculptures, including the Thinker. Multiple versions of all of those sculptures are on display here, though there are also versions in other museums, including the d'Orsay. So while it is a well laid out museum and gardens, and you do get a glimpse of how Rodin lived, if you have limited time in Paris and want to see Rodin's famous works, you can see them in other places.

I went on Monday and it was closed. So I came back Tuesday. So first of all check to make sure it’s open! I loved that people were relatively quiet so that long could take as long as one wanted to absorb the work… It’s beautifully presented. The same is true of the work in the gardens.
