Your journey through time starts in the magical library of Georg Aloisius Linnebach. In his library you get to know the most important historical stations from Bavarian´s eventful history. How did Bavaria develop and how did it become what it is today? The highlight of your visit is the Virtual-Reality-Experience. Fly through 7.000 years of Bavarian history. Take a seat in the flying vehicle Ludwig has always dreamed of. He had the vision of a flying peacock wagon. Georg Aloisius Linnebach has made this dream come true and takes you on an unique journey through time by using Virtual Reality technology. The Residenz in the heart of Munich was the city palace, once the seat of the Dukes, Princes, and Kings of Bavaria. The extensive complex is the largest city palace in Germany and contains some of the most lavish interiors in Europe. With its art collections and treasury, it is without a doubt the most important cultural site in all of Bavaria. A particular highlight awaits you every Saturday and Thursday in the Munich Residenz. The Residenz Soloists, together with members of the Munich Philharmonic, give a concert in the Hofkapelle where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself once played. The concert program is changed weekly and offers masterpieces of the Baroque and Classical periods by Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn, and works produced by Mozart as a guest composer at the Bavarian court.

Experience a concert by the Residenz soloists in one of the most beautiful and important Rococo theaters in Europe where Mozart’s Idomeneo was premiered and where Napoleon was a guest for a performance of Don Giovanni in 1806. The ensemble, consisting of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, performs selected masterpieces of classical music, leaving long-lasting impressions and wonderful memories for the audience.

Experience the diversity of the underwater world closer than ever at SEA LIFE Munich. The popular aquarium located directly in the Olympic Park offers a journey from local waters like the Isar River to the vast waters of the tropical ocean. The best things come in small packages! With wonderful stucco works and crystal chandeliers inside, Max's Joseph Hall is for many a small pearl in the residence and forms the perfect frame for classical concerts. Live chamber music also helps animate the intimate character of the space. The Munich Residence served as the seat of government and residence of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings from 1508 to 1918. What began in 1385 as a castle in the north-eastern corner of the city (the Neuveste, or new citadel), was transformed by rulers over the centuries into a magnificent palace, its buildings and gardens extending further and further into the town. The rooms and art collections span a period that begins with the Renaissance, and continues via the early Baroque and Rococo epochs to Neoclassicism. Here you can bear witness to the discriminating taste and the political ambition of the Wittelsbach dynasty.

Ascend over Munich with a ride on the Umadum Ferris wheel. Take a drink or snack (available for purchase) from the kiosk onto your gondola and relax on a calm rotation up and then down. Enjoy incredible views of the city and the surrounding landscape. Find yourself in the creative quarter of Werksviertel-Mitte where the Umadum Ferris wheel stands. The Baroque Court Chapel of the Wittelsbach family was once the wedding chapel of Ludwig I. It is one of the jewels of the Munich Residenz. Here Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed frequently with his early piano concertos and the Missa brevis. The Court Chapel itself is primarily known for its wonderful acoustics.
