Everything went well

The visit to Versailles went very well. We were there on Pentecost Sunday and were able to walk past the long queue for ticket sales. However - as previously advised by GetYourGuide - we had to queue for admission. This was relatively unproblematic in the gardens, but the line to the castle was extremely long. It is advisable to follow the recommendations of GetYourGuide and get to Versailles at 9:00 a.m. or at 3:00 p.m. Since we arrived at 11:00 am, we would have had to wait about 2 hours. So we decided not to visit the castle and enjoyed our time in the gardens. On our next visit to Paris, we would probably choose a guided tour of the palace with GetYourGuid, as it might save waiting times. About the gardens themselves: the gardens are impressive and have gigantic proportions, but some of the plants were in poor condition.

Please book on site, it's cheaper! I would not book again through this website "in advance". We bought 5 tickets unnecessarily and there were family tickets on site for about 35% cheaper prices!! Since you are obliged to go to the tourism office first to get the tickets printed out there, it makes no sense from my point of view.

good bus route. the buses used were also good, they took us to all the highlights of the city. we were not offered complimentary coffee, I think due to disorganisation.
