Full description
Spend a beautiful day at the emerald waters of Königssee in the Berchtesgaden Alps of Bavaria. Departing Munich, you will drive along the most scenic German Alpine road into the marvelous valley of Berchtesgaden. Arrive at Königssee and take a boat ride to the peninsula. As you cruise, listen out for the mysterious echo of Königssee, created by the proximity of the sheer rock walls. You will also see the historic Eagle`s Nest viewpoint, a teahouse that was offered to Hitler on his 50th birthday. Look out too for the so-called Sleeping Witch silhouettes in the mountains. Back on dry land, visit the chapel of St. Bartholoma, dating from 1134 and located at the foot of Germany’s second highest mountain, the 8,900-foot (2,700-meter) high Watzmann. Walk to the final station at Salet, where a footpath leads to Lake Obersee. Enjoy the marvelous views of Germany´s highest waterfall at Röthbachfall. Return to Munich for a hotel drop-off. The entire length of this journey into a serene wilderness is 8-10 hours.

Very expensive

The tour basically includes the drive back and forth so that’s pricey for the cost. You have to pay for the boat tickets the day of the tour which the driver didn’t mention until we were almost home and it had to be in cash. I wish he said something earlier so we could have got to an ATM. Otherwise, the place is gorgeous and well worth the trip. I would suggest to the tour site to include the boat ticket price into the total tour so people are not caught off guard.

Breathtaking Kinigssee Lake

I will start with our tour guide Marios who was wonderfull. He really was funny and pleasent and we enjoyed the whole day with him. As the group was small he gave us all his attention and made sure that we enjoyed ourselves. Konigssee Lake was magnificant and one of the most beautifull places i have visited. We really enjoyed the whole day. I could say that it was the best tour we did during our 1 week stay in Munich.

Excellent tour guide

That's great tour to visit konigssee since that place is really difficult to go by long distance from main city. This tour is free for us to boat trip around konigssee. The tour guide Mario is a kindly and nice guide. One unforgettable thing is that I lost my phone after the tour and call Mario for helping me to find it. Finally, he found my phone in his car and kindly return to me. That's my wonderful experience.
