The tour was interesting. The history of the whole tour is a little bit less than having the food experience. We were the only ones on the tour, thus it became a kind of personal tour for us. The tour guide was nice in all the explanation and we would go back to the Viktualienmarkt again for our daily marketing. The only thing we did not like is asking for a tip at the end of the tour. We have done the walking tours in many parts of the world and asking for tips was not very conspicuous there. Not sure if it was more conspicuous since we were the only ones in the tour but it somehow destroys the sweet memory of the whole tour.
It was a really pleasant evening and our guide Dani was so lovely and knowledgable! The meat all looked wonderful and interesting to taste, I am vegetarian and got a cheese platter instead, which wasn't at all German/Bavarian for me. They said after that I could have had Spaeztle if I wanted or another dish, so veggies, warn in advance that you want a proper dish and not a cheese platter.
This is a fun tour - the octoberfest museum is also a spot you could stop in and have a drink later. There was plenty of beer and food. We ended up staying with part of our group and having a beer at Hofbrauhaus. A fun night for our group which was parents and two kids ages 21 and 18.
Das war eine phantastisches Tour mit einem super netten Guide. Das Essen war hervorragend. Wir haben unglaublich viel vom viktualienmarkt gesehen und nette Geschichten über München gehört. Absolute Empfehlung für diese Tour !!!
Dani was AWESOME. We had such a great time with her, and we learned a lot, too! I think it’s wise to eat beforehand (if only because that’s a lot of beer!) and bring a jacket if you get cold easily.
