Mt Norquay is Banff’s original and closest ski resort, only a short seven-minute drive from downtown Banff and is celebrating ninety-four years as a family fun destination. When the snow melts away Norquay offers two unique must-do summer mountain experiences; the sightseeing chairlift and via ferrata. Via Ferrata is an assisted climbing experience along four breathtaking routes on cliffs perched high above Banff. You and your ACMG certified guide will climb ladders & cross suspension bridges while being harnessed to a steel cable, experiencing views of Banff rarely seen. Choose from a 2.5-hour intro climb or the longer 4, 5 or 6-hour routes. No climbing experience is required, you just need a sense of adventure! For the best seat in town, take a scenic ride into the sky on the Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift. Passing over natural Grizzly and Black Bear habitat, spectacular views await looking down on Banff and across to the jagged peaks of the iconic Mount Rundle. At the top enjoy a mountain-inspired menu, cocktails, and craft beer at the historic Cliffhouse Bistro. The bistro offers a lift accessable, high-alpine dining experience that's second to none!
