Fuerteventura: Sailing with Snorkeling and Dolphin Watching

1. Fuerteventura: Sailing with Snorkeling and Dolphin Watching

Spot dolphins, whales, and other sea mammals in their natural habitat on this catamaran cruise along Fuerteventura’s southern coast. Enjoy swimming and snorkeling with the gear provided. Relax onboard with some tapas and a drink.  Start with a visit to the harbor to marvel at the beautiful manta rays that live here and watch this beautiful creature swimming along the bottom of the sea floor. After the manta ray viewing, it's time to hop on board your sailing boat for the day for a short briefing of the day’s itinerary. Then it’s time to set sail and leave the harbor. Heading out towards the open seas the captain will bring up the sails and turn off the engine. Listen to the radio communications from local fishermen and listen out for sightings of marine wildlife, including dolphins and whales. If they’re in the area, the captain will sail the boat towards them for the chance to take some photos and admire these elegant creatures up close. During the rest of the sail, enjoy the stunning sea views that surround you and soak up the glorious Fuerteventura sunshine. After about 2 hours of sailing, your captain will drop anchor, giving you some time to go swimming and snorkeling in the shimmering blue waters. After your swim, enjoy a selection of tapas made from local recipes and relax with a drink as you sail back to shore.

Kids & family surf course at Fuerteventura's endless beaches

6. Kids & family surf course at Fuerteventura's endless beaches

Sandy beaches and gentle waves are a great playground for children and for adults. Our surf instructors are always amazed at how quickly and naturally children learn to surf. Experiencing the children's enthusiasm for surfing is almost as exciting for us adults as surfing ourselves. Therefore, we offer surf lessons especially for children and families. We have a team of German-, English- and Spanish-speaking surf coaches who are aware of the special needs and desires of children under the age of 12. In small groups of maximum 4 children our instructors will help to carry surfboards, choose waves, off course gentle push the surfboards into the wave and give individual support and supervision. According to the needs of children we only teach at beach with soft sandy ground, less current and gentle waves. Once at the beach, our surf instructors explain the surf equipment, waves, currents and important safety rules. After a short theoretical instruction, practical exercises on land follow. In simple steps, our instructor will show the position on the surfboard and the movement how to stand up - we call this the "Take Off". Now everybody is off to the water. The course takes place only in shallow water. The surf instructor will be in the water and help choose waves, give the surfboard a little push into the waves and provide tips how to improve the surfing technique. For a small extra charge of 14€ we will pick up from your accommodation in: Morro Jable, Jandia, Esquinzo, Butihondo, Costa Calma, La Pared or La Lajita.

What people are saying about Morro Jable

Fab day from start to finish. Jose met us at the harbour with 6 others. The boat was beautiful & so clean. Items (bags, shoes etc) are left downstairs in the living quarters and the fun is had on deck. Jose explained the day to us all & then sailed in style. Jose told us where to look for the dolphins & whales, explaining how all the boats out at sea communicate with each other should any be spotted. We stopped near the bay to swim in the sea / sunbathe on deck then delicious tapas were served - all tastes were catered for - veggies & meat eaters. There were drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) a plenty throughout the day, either help yourself or Jose served. Amazing experience, we will definitely book again (directly with Flounders). Note: we were told to meet outside the Restaurant Cofradia so we paid for a taxi there. However, Jose had collected the others from their hotels, one being next to ours! Check with the guide/Skipper in advance. Jose drove us back - thank you.

Amazing excursion. We were collected from the hotel by Ann-Marie and taken to the goats. You can select your own, we chose Pinto and he was a character from the off. The group was lovely and the weather amazing. Lunch was served in a hut and it was yum! Goats cheese, tomatoes, bread, olives and red wine / water - all divine! The walk is up steep hills which of course you walk back down again - good grip shoes are advised. Just over 14,000 steps when back at the farm. The goats were hilarious and had to be walked on their leads more than usual that day - they were being mischievous & wanted to munch not trot! Cute.. Ann-Marie cut yum fruit for us from plants & spoke about the areas visited enroute. We recommend this excursion. Any questions you may have prior to the trip, Christina will advise - she phoned us to ensure all was okay & sort our meeting point. Thank you for a fantastic day.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I was picked up to enterimg the boat. I was met by an amazing team who were both warm, experienced and so much fun. The Captain was funny, entertaining and was versed in many languages. Did I feel safe absolutely. Did they cater to everyones need yes. Whether your travelling on your own or in a group you will love the Pirate experience, dolphin watching and more importantly the water sports in the open sea is off thr charts. Thats not forgetting the surplus amounts of food and drink available and being out on the sea. Thank you to all the team who have left me with some memorable experiences that I will never forget. If your up for some adventure then this is definitely the place to be. Totally winning and extremely grateful to have enjoyed time with the group.

This was the most active tour of my holiday but so much enjoyable especially hiking with the goats. I would only recommend this tour to people who are used to high activity because 2-3 hours of walking and some steep hills.

Wonderful experience Treking through the wilderness with some really behaved goats - good footwear is recommend
