Head out on a drive along the Andean plateau in Chinchero to take in fantastic views of the Chicon Mountain as your 6-hour tour begins. Stop in Moray for a guided visit of the deep circular terraces of Moray. The purpose of the terraces is uncertain, but their depth, design and orientation with respect to wind and sun create a temperature difference of up to 15C/27 F from the top to the bottom. It is thought that the temperature difference was used to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops. Continue to the Maras salt mines, comprising around 3,000 small wells of about 5 square meters. They have been used since Incan times for economic exchange.

The 5 day imperial journey was great. Everything was taken care of in terms of hotels and transfers for all the activities. Our guide Julio was amazing, he didn’t expect to have a private tour guide for the trip. He gave us the history of the Inka people and was never pushy on us to purchase anything. Inkayni Peru Tours organised everything very well. I would say that the Rainbow Mountain hike was the most difficult and that took it out of us. Our tour guide changed and we were outsourced to another tour company. Be mentally prepared for Rainbow Mountain, it is high altitude 5,200m and so if you are not a hiker then take the horse! The Rainbow Mountain is the activity I least enjoyed, very busy and it was just for that perfect Instagram picture which you’ll need to line up for! The journey was around 3 hours each way. Overall, we enjoyed the trip and it was hassle free. Hotels in Cusco and Agua Calientes are basic but services are good. You’ll be exploring anyways!

Me and my travelingcompany (my wife and cousins) want to send a big thank you for a fantastic experience in Cusco and the surrounding area (Macu Picchu etc) 9-13 January. Our guide Ernesto gave us the best of days, despite the unrest in your beautiful country. So much knowledge he offered and engaging stories he shared! big warm thanks! The hotel was excellent, nice people and the breakfast top notch! We highly recommend this trip and give Ernesto, bus driver and hotel highest score. Thanks from Anna, Peter, Anneli, Teun, Alex, Fred

I had a bit of trouble communicating pre-trip but I didn’t need to worry. They went over and above multiple times in using right before the trip and everything was clear. I got such and they graciously moved everything back a day. A day before the trip. The guides and package were amazing. We had our own personal guide for Machu Picchu. He was highly knowledgeable and lovely. The hotels, service, communication was top notch. Highly recommend and would use them again.

Tour was hassle free and good ,the drivers were very polite Not too much crowded , we got seats in top floor easily The next bus also comes very frequently in 15mins

Elisa was a great tourist guide. We had a great time…
