Cycle the banks of the Tagus River, and discover the UNESCO World Heritage monuments of Belém on an electric bike tour of Lisbon. Meet your guide at a central meeting point for a short briefing on how the bikes work. Then, glide off towards the renovated Ribeira Market, where you will find an abundance of traditional stalls selling fish, fruit, vegetables, and flowers.  A separate area features more than 30 restaurants where you can taste food recommended by highly regarded chefs.  Next, bike down the former red light district of the Rua Nova de Carvalho (also known as “Pink Street”), famous for its animated nightlife, and recently named by the New York Times as one of the best streets in Europe. Continue past the former thermoelectric plant that is now home to the Electricity Museum, and admire one of the best examples of Industrial architecture in Lisbon. Next, go to the Monument of the Discoveries built in 1940 for the Exhibition of the Portuguese World. Admire the depictions of Portugal’s “Age of Discoveries,” before looking at the 16th-century fortifications of the Torre Belém, part of a defensive system that protected Lisbon from pirates. Enjoy a quiet coffee break away from the tourist traps, before cycling to the 16th-century Monastery of Saint Jerome, one of the finest examples of Manueline-style architecture in the city. There will be the chance to taste one of the famous Belém custard tartlets in the magnificent gardens before it’s time to cycle back to the meeting point.

Shortly after leaving the dock you’ll pass by the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, in the shape of a ship, built for the Portuguese World Exhibition in 1940, and also the Torre de Belém, an iconic monument of Lisbon. Back along the north bank, you’ll have views of historic Lisbon, with the Terreiro do Paço and the Cais do Sodré and also the recently renovated waterfront and see the Museum of Electricity. On the south bank see the forts and prisons that were used during the old regime. You’ll be dazzled by the Ponte 25 de Abril, and have views of the Cristo Rei. Board your sailboat at the Doca do Bom Sucesso Marina. Sail down the Tagus river and pass by the Monument of Discoveries underneath the 25 de Abril Bridge. Continue onto the river Tejo and admire Lisbon's many different architectural styles.
