Visit the Greenwood Great House and learn about its history on a private, 2-hour tour in Montego Bay. Tour the grounds of this museum and find out about its former owners while learning about life on a sugar plantation. The museum, which was opened in 1976, once belonged to the Barretts. This wealthy British family once owned more than 84,000 acres of land and more than 2,000 slaves. Today, the house is a national monument. On your tour, you will see the historical museum, with much of its original furniture, family portraits, and rooms still intact. It contains the largest plantation library in the island, with up to 300 books, some dated as early as 1697. It also houses exotic musical instruments and antique china silverware. Located in the Parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, 9 Mile Village is known for its market, but better known as the birthplace of Bob Marley, the legendary King of Reggae, and where he was laid to rest. On this half-day tour from Montego Bay you’ll visit the Bob Marley mausoleum, which is managed by members of Marley's family. This popular tourist attraction features many historical artifacts including his guitars, awards he received, and photographs of events throughout his life. One highlight of the site is the rock pillow where Marley rested his head when seeking inspiration for his music. His body lies buried along with his guitar in a marble mausoleum inside a tiny church of traditional Ethiopian design. There are 2 mausoleums on the property. The first is Mama Marley's, and the other entombs Marley as well as his half-brother. Bob's crypt is on the top, and his brother lies in a tomb below. It was Mama Marley's wish that the brothers be buried together.

Visit the Rose Hall Great House, named after the wife of George Ash, on a 2-hour tour in Montego Bay. Admire this house, built in the style of a Georgian mansion. Its position, set high on a hill overlooking the coast, makes Rose Hall Great House a commanding presence. As you explore the house on your tour, listen as your guide tells you more about its construction and history, and then its folklore. Find out about Annie, the English wife of a family member who inherited the home in the early 1800s. Known as the "White Witch of Rose Hall," Annie was rumored to have used "black magic" to kill multiple husbands and lovers. Even today, there are people who claim to see Annie passing through the Great House, and on your tour, you may catch a glimpse of her as well. At the end, head down to the dungeon and enjoy a complimentary drink.
