Full description
Visit the site of the first Winter Olympics! In Chamonix you’ll experience majestic scenery on a drive through the Arve Valley and from the 12,605-foot viewing platform on Europe’s highest mountain.  This full-day tour begins in Geneva with a drive across the French border through the glacier-fed Arve Valley. At Chamonix you’ll marvel at the splendid backdrop of the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges. You’ll take the cable car up to Aiguille du Midi, which was the world’s highest cable car ride when it was launched in 1955. Enjoy breathtaking panoramas of this Alpine wonderland, with views into France, Switzerland, and Italy. Lunch will be at your leisure. You will also have the chance to ride the astonishing Montenvers rack railway to the Mer de Glace glacier. The journey on this electric train covers 3 miles of beautiful mountainous scenery before arriving at the longest glacier in France. You're free to spend the day as you please. Wander by foot to discover the town’s many delights, such as Parc Loisir, Musée Alpin, Lac Gaillands or Atelier Les Racines. Chamonix is the world capital for outdoor activites: mountaineering, alpinism, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, trail running, and skiing. Please note: there is unplanned maintenance work on the Aiguille du Midi Cable car, and the cable car will now remain closed until December 2018. The day trip will follow an amended itinerary. Instead of Aiguille du Midi, you will be taken to Plan de L'Aiguille (Middle stop of Aiguille du Midi) and the cable car of Brevant, which takes you up to an impressive 2,525 meters with unbeatable views out across to Mont Blanc and the valley’s mountain range.

the trip is just as described nothing more nothing less. it does not give you enough time for what could be done in Chamonix , the guides are good. the GetYourGuide recommend lunch place is a total flop. Chamomix and you both deserve more time and a group tour is not able to do justice to it.

the VIEWS were worth every penny

Our tourist guide was really funny at times but also kind of really grouchy. The lunch food was not the best.. now on to the positives: transportation was on time and smooth! Train ride and cable car was awesome! truly one of my favorite experiences in France. I highly suggest this.

The action was good but the reception wants improvement

We were meeting early in the field but at the last minute we realized we had to get on a bus. There was no way you would welcome us. Beware many times they use the city bus. Not bad but nobody told us so we almost missed the trip. There is also no meeting in Mont Blanc. They take you to the train and then wait for you to return. If you haven't studied what you can do you will surely lose a lot of interest. I gave it the best because in all this the landscape will compensate you. Don't lose it in any way. The food was simple but satisfying. The village is beautiful. Ornate and snowy. Take the cable car anyway. Unique experience. Both small and large!
