- Small group

- Duration: 8 hours
Wonderful experience from pickup to drop off at hotel. The tour was simple to book and clear details outlined on the website. Lots of drinking water as well as soft drinks provised on board and rain coats just in case. Please note:The elephants we visited are at a sancruary. Our guide Wirathon aka Bao and driver Mr Prasoet aka Mr O were an absolutely friendly and knowledgeable and spoke english. Definitely recommend them both. We were 4 in total for the tour. hence more attention was given to us as well as 1 elephant for every 2ppl. Our tour consisted of washing elephants in a river. Feeding them bananas. Waterfall bathing, lunch (local cuisine)really good. Bamboo rafting, coffee at entrance of cave as well as takibg home bamboo cups and last was feeding monkeys at monkey temple. This one lasts 10min. Lovely experience.
Overall we did enjoy. The stop at the market was ok but too long at around an hour. Too long to look at fish and vegetables. Really enjoyed bathing the elephants , that was the best part of the trip. The lunch included was awful. It was set out on the table when we arrived and must have been out a while as it was cold so we did not eat any of it. Annoying on an all day trip to have no decent food. Bamboo rafting was good and worth doing. So good and bad elements to this trip. What I would say is that with a good taxi driver of which there’s many you can do most of the trips much cheaper.
It was great. We enjoyed it all, loved bathing the elephants and interacting with them. The bamboo rafting was beautiful and relaxing with the bamboo coffee to break up trip down river. Monkeys we saw right up close at temple, but also on river. And lunch... was great with lots of choice. We had an English guide to answer our questions and driver was very accommodating. Only needed a little extra money to feed elephants, but optional. We thought day covered a range of experiences for good value, and we were family with teenage children.
A fun day out, we really enjoyed the rafting as the scenery was fantastic. Bathing the elephants was also a fantastic experience. The lunch was gorgeous. However, the monkey temple and the waterfall were more of a filler for the trip, the waterfall had no water and was situated on a road side. The market was interesting. A worthwhile trip, with the rafting and elephants a real highlight but also quite a bit of padding and hanging around.
Better than described and expected. Superb English speaking guide who also gave insights into Thai culture and life. Excellent organisation especially each party on tour having own elephant. Everything included - Eg rain ponchos, water - except insect repellant for rafting which was our oversight. Highly recommended.
