Kisite Marine Park and Wasini Island Private Tour

1. Kisite Marine Park and Wasini Island Private Tour

Get ready to board an exclusive private boat and sail for about one hour searching for dolphins, before snorkeling and swimming in the Kisite marine national park. Kisite Marine national park is the second most famous marine park in the world, after the Australian Marine Park. Explore 30 kilometers of turtles, marine tortoise, bearreeffs, coral reefs and different types of marine fishes. Next, sail to Wasisni Island where your lunch of sea food and Swahili dishes will be served. After lunch, you’ll have the option to stroll around the island and experience the local Swahili culture, visiting the beautiful coral garden, mangrove forest and fishing village to learn more about the Swahili people and their history. Your local guide will give you an in-depth explanation and background throughout the tour. Alternatively, you can relax at the restaurant, enjoying the sea view and the breeze.

There is nothing to complain about on the tour itself. After a private drive in the company vehicle with the very nice driver Mackenzie, we went on the dhow. People who get seasick easily should be careful here. The dolphin tour was extremely successful. However, I have to deduct a star because of the snorkeling. Not because we didn't see anything. On the contrary. The reefs and their inhabitants were breathtaking. However, you had to be very careful not to lose sight of your group, as there were four groups in the water at the same time and no fixed time or meeting point was agreed. But with a little bit of attention it was no longer a problem. You just have to know ... The food on Wasini Island was delicious and the village and slave cave were also very interesting. A little tip: if you want to make the local children happy, take a few sweets with you :)

We spent our second-to-last day in Kenya on this excursion. Unlike our other excursions, this one had other groups on our dhow ride to Kisite. It’s about a 45 minute journey to Kisite. If you’re prone to seasickness, take your meds beforehand. Once there, some of us went snorkeling while others simply swam in the Indian Ocean. It was a relaxing 30 minutes. Afterwards, they took us to Wasini for a local lunch of fish, crab and rice. It was tasty. Note beverages are extra so bring shillings. If you’re looking for some r&r in the sea, I would recommend this excursion.

it was a wonderful day and everything was perfectly organized. the guids on the ship were so friendly and warm that they made my day easier with their presence. the snorkeling was breathtakingly beautiful !!! the food on the island was also very tasty and on the way back the guides sang for us. made my day i can only say with your zest for life and your singing you made an already perfect day even more perfect !!! i can recommend this excursion to everyone! it was definitely worth every cheap one i paid for! well done and thanks for a wonderful day!

The day was magnificent and the crew was amazing. From Mackenzie, who came to pick us up very early and Ismail who drove us there and back, to the excursion boat captain and the restaurant in Wasini, we really enjoyed our time. Kudos for a great organisation and wonderful service.
