This was my first visit to Gran Canaria, for number of reasons I decided to stay in the north (Las Palmas) and bought 2 (+1) tours around the island to get better idea of different regions and places of importance. All of the tours were amazing: small groups, the routes were planned with great detail and knowledge of the island, they well-balanced nature, towns/villages and museums (!); stops to enjoy sights, have coffee or lunch were adequate; and equally important: the guides were fantastic! I have trully enjoyed their talking on all kind of topics related to local history, fauna, flora, geology, archeology, customs, legends, social specifics related to current life incl. "covid times" and impact on tourims (seeing empty hotels in Maspalomas), and the like. Excellent.
A relly enjoyable excursion! Marta and Ruben are incredible guides who love what they do. Ruben provided a lot of interesting info about the island and the local fauna both in English and Spanish. The snorkeling part was extremely fun. We had the beach to ourselves and could swim and snorkel as long as we liked! On our way back to the port we had a bite to eat on the boat. Would deffenitely recommend it!
Fran was a great guide giving lots of interesting information and was early passionate about the Canaries. We spent just the right amount of time in each location to give us enough space to check it out without getting bored or running out of time to see a new place. The minibus was very comfy and air conditioned. One of the best things I decided to do in Gran Canaria.
The tour covers a few places of interest, so if you're visiting the island for the first time, it's a good tour. But because the time is limited, you don't get as much time as you might want at each stop. The local tour guide was very friendly and informative.
Nice people! Nice food! Nice ride! It is indeed a yellow boat, and there is plenty of fish to see when you go snorkeling. Take some of the bread they have on board to feed the fish and the fish will be all around you. Great experience all year round, enjoy!
