Full description
We are a family operated winery in Modra, let us show you the wonderful wines from our vineyards and wine cellar! Modra is an old royal city worth visiting for its charming romantic setting in the Small Carpathians, and has been known for centuries for its wine production and quality ceramics. What's more, the great codifier of Slovak language Ľudovít Štúr lived and died here. Modra offers you excellent wines, great food and peaceful surroundings. Thanks to the deep enological knowledge, love of vineyards, an emphasis on clean technology and a combination of traditional and modern approaches to wine-making, our wines have a small but distinct Carpathian dimension, full of minerality and pleasant aromas. Our excellent wines offer you a touch of flowers, medlar, mulberries and even figs and kiwi, which also flourish in our gardens. We hope that, after visiting us, our wines will always remind you of long and idyllic walks through the rolling hills of Modra. We own 5 hectares of planted vineyards. We produce wines from typical white varieties like Green Silvaner, Green Veltliner, Red Traminer, Oliver Irsai, Devin, Pinot gris, and Welchsriesling but also from Sauvignon and Chardonnay. We are famous for excellent red wines too, including Hron, Cabernet Sauvignon, Neronet, Dornfelder, and Saint Laurent. Our winemaker is respected authority in his field, not only in Slovakia but worldwide, often travelling abroad as the international judge in the prestigious wine competitions.

Very relaxed, very authentic and very personal. Wine tasting at this local family business was the best part of our trip to Slovakia. It is clear how much passion they have for their work and they are excellent at what they do. We took the train to Pezinok from Bratislava (~€2pp return) then the bus onward to Modra (~€2pp return). At the tasting we learned all about the history of Wine in the region and all about the process of wine making, and saw round the new venue they are currently renovating in Modra. We tasted around 9 samples to compare flavours and had bread, cheese and traditional Slovak cold pork. Fedors son who lead the tasting was a lovely charismatic person who knew his craft well. We really enjoyed sipping wine and chatting to him for a couple of hours in sunny Modra. I would 100% recommend this experience, if you are in Slovakia you must come and visit!

Amazing....Mr. Fedor is one of a kind :)

Hello, I recommend a visit to the Village of Modra, meet Fedor Malik and his sons for an amazing wine tasting experience...Set in a tranquil garden set up, a table, tasty nibbles and excellent wine to drink. Of course with explanation from the Master himself! Tip for travellers; Head to the Village of Pezinok, get out of the station and wait for bus...more than one every 15 mins. Consult the map info at the bus stage. Very cheap transport. Must do when in Slovakia...Enjoy!

We were a group of 9 men on a 4-day stay in Bratislava. On the second day we visited Fedor Malik and his sons winery in Modra. We were warmly welcomed by the youngest son - Jacob. He gave us a very personal story of the winery, the history of Modra and their honest ambition of producing good wines. We tasted 8 different wines: A sparkling wine called Modragne, 2 red wines and 5 white wines. The wines were accompanied with treats like local cheese, bread, olives, sausages, ham, chilis and cake. Jacob showed us around in the many small cellars hidden around the house filled with wine in every step of the proces. The 3-hour tour started and ended in Fedor Maliks beautiful backgarden with kiwi-, chestnut- and almondthrees. We also had the privilege to meet Fedor Malik himself. On our ride back to Bratislava we felt euphoric not only because of the wine consumption but also due to having had an extraordinare experience with people who love the wine they produce.
