Full description
Depart from Milazzo's port and travel towards the island of Vulcano. The journey time is around one hour. After arriving at Vulcano Porto, you will have 3.5 hours to explore the beauty of the island at your own pace. Take a therapeutic bath in the thermal waters and the sulfur muds in Baia Levante. Walk on the black beach of volcanic sand or take a swim on Baia Ponente. If you are feeling adventurous, climb to the Gran Cratere Della Fossa, which is an active volcano, though currently dormant. From summit enjoy a breathtaking view of all the islands in the area. Depart from Vulcano at 2:00 PM. Once onboard, you will be offered a small aperitif that you can enjoy during the short journey to Lipari, the biggest island of the Archipelago. Arrive at Lipara at 2:30 PM where you will have time to take a walk through the picturesque streets of the old town. Shop along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, visit the ancient Castle of Lipari with the majestic Basilica of San Bartolomeo, or stroll along the white pumice beaches of the island.  Start the return journey at 5:30 PM. Pass by the Faraglioni of Lipari, Pietra Lunga, and Pietra Menalda. Get a view of the west side of Vulcano, where you can admire the Grotta del Cavallo. Arrive back at Milazzo Port at about 6:45 PM.

I would have given 5 stars if the time hadn't been too short, in my opinion even just one more hour would have been enough not to chase time ... maybe we would have even escaped a swim in the sea ... anyway all in all the excursion went well!

This was a really good and well organised excursion. The crew were fantastic and kept us informed throughout. They even walked us to point out where the buses departed from in Lipari. However, my recommendation would be to arrange a taxi in advance to maximise your time on the island and save money at the same time, as the buses Are the cheapest option but run infrequently. The mud spa on Vulcano was closed which was a big disappointment being one reason for initially booking, however the hot sea and the beautiful views more than compensated. Will definitely book again to return in the future.

Well organized, enough time to walk up to the crater. 1 hour of ascent (quite trying but well worth the effort), short break of 20 to 30 minutes at the top (magnificent view of the crater and the islands, we are near the fumaroles, 50 m max), 40 minutes of descent . On the other hand, in my opinion, too short a time to do the mud baths in addition. Commentaries on the boat in Italian and English. Too bad because a lot of French speakers on board. For Lipari, enough time to eat in a restaurant and visit the village, which is very beautiful.
