Djerba: Explore Park and Crocodile Farm with Pickup

1. Djerba: Explore Park and Crocodile Farm with Pickup

Treat yourself to an afternoon at the Djerba Explore Park during your visit to Djerba. The park is divided into five parts: a village composed of charming streets and squares, a leisure area filled with restaurants and shops, and three attraction modules. Of the latter three modules, the first is the Lalla Hadria Museum, a museum of international stature thanks to its high-quality design and first-rate collection of around 1,000 pieces of Tunisian and Arab-Muslim art. The second attraction is the Conservatory of Djerbian Heritage, which consists of reconstructed traditional workshops for weaving, pottery, and oil production, as well as real craftsmen displaying their work.  The crocodile farm is the highlight of the park. Filled with nearly 400 Nile crocodiles from Madagascar, watch as they bask in the sun or wade through the water to cool off in the tropical greenhouse. A guided tour is included with entry, but the main attraction is the crocodile feeding, which takes place several times a week.

Djerba: Visit to Midoun Market by Carriage

2. Djerba: Visit to Midoun Market by Carriage

Explore the most famous market in Djerba after taking a picturesque carriage ride through the countryside. Immerse yourself in local culture and hone your haggling skills on this 4-hour excursion.   After hotel pickup in the morning, you’ll be taken to the ranch for a carriage ride to the souk (market) of Midoun, one of the main attractions of the island of Djerba. Head out of the city, far away from populated places. Cross agricultural fields, fields of olive trees and palm trees, and pass peasants and herds of goats and sheeps before arriving in Midoun.   When you arrive, your host will accompany you to the market and give you time to walk around quietly, to discover, negotiate, and do good business. The market is full of artisanal products, including wool, other textiles, carpets, jewelry, leatherworks, pottery, and much more. Your host will give you a precise hour to meet him for the trip back. He’ll take you by carriage back to the ranch, where you’ll be taken back to your hotel in the city.

What people are saying about Midoun

I put 4 stars because the guide who left me in front of the activity told me nothing. He just asked me to be in front of the site at 5 p.m. to return to the hotel. I arrived 10 minutes late because I didn't want to miss feeding the crocodiles. Usually I always go through this site for the activities but for this one, I would have been wiser to take a taxi because I would have paid half of what it cost me by going there by myself.

Very interesting activity, a lot of crocodiles, it's impressive, you absolutely have to do this activity, be careful not to miss the feeding at 5 p.m. On the other hand we are disappointed because on the spot the entry ticket was much cheaper than what we have to pay on the site it is 30 dinars per person. So advice take your tickets on site it's exactly the same and you save

Nice carriage ride to the midum market, our carriage driver served as our guide for the market visit. All right, to do. But I do not understand the big difference in price with the excursion offered by the hotel, for this one you are not competitive for the price it is a pity

Very nice experience, it would definitely be better if a guide was there. Especially for the tour through the exhibition.
