The guide and the driver were both really great : driving slower than Greek people in general while having quality informations from our guide. We were just 3 people on the tour, it was pretty safe! On the other hand, the guide was a bit fast speaking for me and the tour is quite short. We had 1 hour free time at the end of the tour ,before taking the train, but 1 hour is too much as there's no much to see in Kalabaka city.. I think it was pretty expensive because we didn't have wifi in the bus, we had to pay the train tickets (48€!) and the monasteries entrance fees (3€ each). In general, it was a nice tour to see the essential of Meteora, alongside great history infos.

This is a long day but totally worth it. Train from Athens at 7.20am, arrive to Kalambaka at 11.30am, a 4.5 hour tour in a comfortable air-conditioned mini bus, and a 5pm train from Kalambaka, arriving to Athens around 9pm. BUT - the scenery and monasteries are unique and simply jaw-dropping. Do this tour. Our guide Jim was excellent - knowledgeable, witty, engaged and engaging. p.s. there is a tour that includes the train tickets but we booked our own train tickets at www.trainose.gr - the advantage is that you can choose your class and seat.

Magical !

We arrived by train from Athens which was delayed but the tour bus was waiting for us & stored our luggage as well. Tour guide was very informative & both herself & bus driver was so helpful in getting us just the right photo. Meteora is really something to behold & thank-you for opening my eyes to this wonder.
