What people are saying about Memphis, Egypt

Well planned out tour for basic introduction to Egyptian history. If you’re looking for a very in depth history then I’d recommend something more focus for a longer duration, there’s a lot planned in the day and not enough time to really get intimate. Knowledgeable guide and fantastic driver (you need one, traffic in Cairo is scary for foreigners). Standard fare for an Egyptian tour consisting of the base tour plus a few added stops to show you cool things but are sort of tourist traps to get you to buy things. Papyrus paper making was cool, carpet making is interesting but not practical. If you want to focus on the tour and not tourist traps recommend getting a detailed itinerary in advance and letting your guide know you’re not interested in the added stops. We added on the extra 1 hour camel ride but it was exactly 19 minutes long that consisted of a short walk to take a couple pictures and back.

The transfer went smoothly. We were picked up on time in Hurghada. In Cairo, our guide for the entire tour, Ashraf Kandiel, gave us a friendly welcome and we started our adventure. First we went to Saqqara & Memphis. Since we were out so early, we were the first visitors to the excavations and were able to comfortably see all the sights. After lunch we went to the pyramids in Giza. Definitely an experience. Day two was also filled with highlights - the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and the Mohammed Ali Mosque and the Bazaar. Our guide explained and told us the history of Egypt in an exciting way during the two days. It was a successful excursion into the past and the Cairo of the present. Our guide was great & very accommodating and the time just flew by. Our two drivers bravely fought their way through the traffic and patiently picked us up everywhere. The trip is highly recommended!

Amazing experience with Zainab and Wahid, everything was really perfect from start to finish. I hope you come across these two people of unspeakable kindness who will make you discover the most beautiful things in Cairo, Memphis and Sakarra. Once again, a big thank you to them for this unforgettable experience!
