Copenhagen: The West End Gourmet Walking Tour

1. Copenhagen: The West End Gourmet Walking Tour

You will start the tour at Vesterbros Torv, and move into the center of the old red light district. Today the area is one of the most interesting parts of Copenhagen, full of undiscovered eateries and creative shops down little side streets. While you taste the best that the area has to offer, you will discuss the many recent changes from the butchers and the industrial revolution, to the hipsters and the foodies making the area their own. Sit down and eat in some of the best restaurants in the old meat packing district, as well as visit perhaps the most famous microbrewery in Denmark for a beer. You will have the opportunity to try smørrebrød (the famous open sandwiches), a small lokal akvavit, and a small homemade meat dish from the last remaining butcher shop in the area (now also a restaurant). With the tastings you will also get some small alcoholic drinks and of course water.  You will see Copenhagen as the locals see it, vibrant, living, creative and relaxing. The balance between the old and the new maintained in the very center of a busy metropolis.

We had a great time with our excellent guide

The tour was such a good idea. We met our excellent guide and then headed off to a part of Copenhagen we would have easily missed. The meatpacking district was a revelation with interesting history, great restaurants, cafes and small businesses. This was a morning well spent.

Great guide, great food!

Would have been better if the hike started at 12:00 hard to be in Cph at 11:00 a weekend. considering trains, if you come from southern Sweden
