Our guide was Dirk. Very fit, cool and personable type. He was open, friendly and helped us hike up, which was sometimes very steep, very good and gave lots of tips. We found the hike extremely great and only recommendable. However, you should be sure-footed and fit if you want to walk up to Le Morne. You had to climb quite a lot with your feet and hands at the same time. But it was super cool and I'm happy to have seen the great view of the sea from up there. Simply unique and really worth a hike.

Our guide Steeve was fantastic. He encouraged and assisted everyone to achieve a successful and safe climb. The climbing sections were challenging yet achievable with Steeve's expert guidance and local knowledge. Steeve was very entertaining and had a great amount of knowledge about the history and geography of the area. The view of Mauritius and the coastline were amazing too! Wear loose comfortable clothing (you will sweat a lot in the Mauritian humidity), take a small backpack to carry at least 2 litres of water, and wear comfortable running shoes (no need for specialised hiking boots or climbing shoes). A great experience.

We climbed the mountain "Le Morne Brabant" with the open and helpful guide "Dirk" from 'Yanaturs'. He knows his way around very well and is always interested in ensuring that all participants are doing well. We had a great morning with him and had a breathtaking adventure. The hike is very demanding. One half is normal hiking and the other half you have to help yourself with climbing up, but it can be done. The view is really priceless. We were out with normal sneakers and it worked. Hiking shoes are of course not wrong. Under no circumstances would we do the tour alone, as we already find it dangerous and the good tips from Dirk were really valuable and helpful. So don't think about it, and definitely do it! :-)
