    Embark on a boating adventure from Marseille's Old Port. Glide along turquoise waters as you sail around the Frioul Islands and break for an hour of exploration on land. See Château d'If, the fortress that inspired Alexandre Dumas' famous novel, The Count of Monte Cristo.

    Begin your tour by setting sail from the Old Port of Marseille. Admire the pristine waters as you approach the Frioul Islands and the tributary creeks along the coastline. As you reach the main island, you'll disembark for an hour to discover the port and break for refreshments.

    Continue your tour back on board with a pass by the Château d'If. This historic fortress was built by François I between 1528 and 1531 and was immortalized in the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.

    Next, admire the beauty of Degaby Island, a gift from a wealthy industrialist to his wife, Liane Degaby, who was a great artist of the Belle Epoque. Finally, soak up the serene surroundings of Malmousque Cove.

    This was the best experience I had in Marseille! The boat ride was so fun and gave an amazing overview of the Marseille coast. I was so happy to land on the beautiful island and ate some great lunch. The guide was so friendly and knowledgable, I would recommend this trip to everybody.

    If you are questioning if you should do this tour - do it! It was amazing. The guide was great. We had no problems understanding his English, he was friendly and accomodating and gave our group great recommendations and history about Marseille. The meeting point was a little confusing as others have mentioned (because there were multiple boats and tours), but if you follow the GPS coordinates you'll be in the right place and shouldn't have any problems finding it.
