Full description
At 1 PM, you'll arrive at the meeting point Quai d’honneur in front of Marseille’s main city hall. Then, you'll depart, crossing the Bay of Marseille in the local partner's comfortable hybrid electric boat. Hear about the cultural aspects of the area from your captain, who is also your tour guide. You'll soon reach the gates of the Calanques, la 'Baie des Singes' (The Monkey's Bay). This amazing passage between Maïre Island and the Croisette Cap is the start of the National Parc des Calanques, a national park since 2012. The Calanques covers a 20-kilometer stretch of coastline between the village of Les Goudes and the town of Cassis. It's one of the most remarkable sites in France and an important area for natural heritage and sporting activities. Once you reach a nice spot, anchor and go for a swim in the heart of the Calanques. The setting is truly majestic with limestone cliffs, untouched inlets, and tiny fishing ports dotted with 'cabanons' (typical provençal cabins). Afterwards you'll return to the port, arriving around 6 PM.

A water tour is dependent on weather and our day was a little marginal, anti-sea sick medicine recommended. But we made it to the National Park and had a relaxing time anchored there. Francois was a perfect guide/captain. He was knowledgeable, calming, and engaging with all 10 members on the trip. We would do this again with him.

Excellent guide who explained everything in English and French (depending on your language skills) and was always open to questions. The boat tour went a little longer than 4.5 hours because the guide himself wanted to enjoy the good weather at sea and in two calanques. The two places we stopped from were beautiful to swim in! Even snorkeling equipment was provided, you should really use it there. It is only recommended to take food with you on your own, whereby you can also get lemonade on board, completely free of charge. You should also bring towels and bathing equipment with you. Overall, highly recommended, we would do it again anytime!

This was a delightful afternoon spent on the beautiful Mediterranean with a suburb captain who was a great host and sightseeing guide. There is an opportunity to get into the water if you wish, to take in the environment if not. It's worth every penny of the price and I highly recommend this.
