  • Enjoy the tranquil silence of nature thanks to a hybrid-electric boat
  • Swim and snorkel at a peaceful inlet
  • Admire Marseille's coastline from the sea
Full description
Start your boat tour from Marseille's old port. Cruise south in a quiet hybrid-electric boat across the beautiful Bay of Marseille. Learn about the city's history and its main monuments on your way to the national park. Arrive at the gates of Calanques, la Baie des Singes (Monkeys Bay). Follow the scenic passage between Maïre Island and the Croisette Cap. Start your boat trip along Calanques's 20-kilometer (12-mile) stretch of coastline, between the village of Les Goudes and the town of Cassis. Admire the majestic scenery, from the limestone cliffs overlooking untouched inlets to the tiny fishing ports dotted with little cabanons (traditional Provençal cabins). During the boat tour, enjoy free to swim and explore the underwater world, as well as rest and have a pleasant lunch onboard. See why Calanques got its name from the Provençal word, "calanco", for a valley carved by a river before reaching the sea and discover the park's caves. See the paleolithic Cosquer Cave, the Blue Grotto, and the Capelan Cave. Spot the numerous fossils encrusted in the limestone.  Learn about how the fossils were formed one hundred million years ago with the accumulation of sediment in the seabed and then pushed up during the Tertiary Period, when the Alps took shape. Look at how erosion has accentuated rocky rifts and given birth to the rugged landscape you see today.

This is a great way to see the Calanques and I would say a must do, especially if you want to jump out and go swimming. The captain was very nice and accommodating. Lunch is relatively light with one glass of rosé. It might be a good idea to bring and extra snack and some water. However, you’re going for the scenery and the water which you can’t beat.

It was a good day, def must do if you want to see the national park by sea and not land. They provided a nice lunch with water, coffee and rose. The only thing is that we booked it via Get Your Guide website which stated that it’s for 6 people which we were happy about because we didn’t want to be in a large group but there were 12 of us. I reached out to the company and they said that Get Your Guide sells 6 tickets but the official website sells more. However the group ended up being a great group of people which we had great conversations with so it all worked out in the end but if you’re looking for a more private / small group experience this won’t be it

An absolute must do experience! Our guide Tibo was fantastic and he told us stories about the history, geography and culture of the Calanques in both French and English. The company is fantastic and offers a delicious vegetarian lunch and plenty of Rosé. I did the full-day tour and highly recommend it.
