Full description
Experience the bohemian vibe of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast on a full-day tour from Marrakech. Transfer by air-conditioned vehicle across west Morocco, enjoying views of the arid landscape and argan trees en route. Stop at the town of Chochaoua for coffee. Arrive in Essaouira approximately 2 hours after your departure from Marrakech. Get your 1st views of more than 6 miles (10 kilometers) of golden beaches, popular with surfers for the constant, bracing winds. Once in Essaouira you are free to explore the medina and Portuguese architecture on your own. Alternatively, meet your local guide for a 1.5-hour tour of the Skala du Port and bastion southeast of the medina. Stroll the labyrinthine streets of the medina, hearing traditional Gnaoua Muic music on every corner. Watch artisans at work, crafting thuya wood crafts. Continue to the fishing port to see the fishermen selling their catch of the day. Taste fresh seafood over lunch in the port. Then, take a walk along the beach before your transfer back to Marrakech. En route, stop at an argan oil co-operative to see how the Berber ladies process the traditional argan oil, known locally as “liquid gold.”

A very nice day in a comfortable bus to discover Essaouira, a quiet town with its pretty beach, its port and its fishermen. We have lunch in a small restaurant in the medina. We eat fresh fish. It was an excellent lunch at a very affordable price. A great time

The travel company is professional, they reply to your questions very prompt. The driver picked up in time, it as a van for 8 people. As it takes around 3.5 one way, it was a comfortable trip. We stopped in a breakfast place and argan cooperative. Clearly 3.5 hours left for Essaouira which was enough to see the city

This was a good trip. Essaouira is a calm oasis from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The trip itself was easy to book and we were picked up from our hotel at the agreed time. The driver Youssef was friendly and knowledgeable. The drive took about 3 hours and we made three stops along the way. Firstly a comfort break, secondly to see goats placed in trees for photo opportunities (a bit sad) and lastly a women's argan cooperative. This was interesting but a bit odd, the women clearly work hard, but they are after such a hard sell that it was off putting. We then had four and a half hours in Essaouira which is ample time to explore the Medina, castle walls and marvel at the impressive roaring sea. I highly recommend this trip and our driver.
