Full description

Experience the bohemian vibe of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast on a full-day tour from Marrakech. Transfer by air-conditioned vehicle across west Morocco, enjoying views of the arid landscape and argan trees en route. Stop at the town of Chichaoua for coffee.

Arrive in Essaouira approximately 2 hours after your departure from Marrakech. Get your 1st views of more than 6 miles (10 kilometers) of golden beaches, popular with surfers for the constant, bracing winds.

Once in Essaouira you are free to explore the medina and Portuguese architecture on your own. Alternatively, meet your local guide for a 1.5-hour tour of the Skala du Port and bastion southeast of the medina.

Stroll the labyrinthine streets of the medina, hearing traditional Gnaoua Muic music on every corner. Watch artisans at work, crafting thuya wood crafts.

Continue to the fishing port to see the fishermen selling their catch of the day. Taste fresh seafood over lunch in the port. Then, take a walk along the beach before your transfer back to Marrakech.

En route, stop at an argan oil cooperative to see how the Berber ladies process the traditional argan oil, known locally as “liquid gold.”

Perfect pickup. Very long journey (more than 3 hours to go and 3 to return). We would have liked if the driver had told us something about the villages we passed, just to learn something or pass the time in the 3 hour drive. Very kind and very knowledgeable local guide.

This was a very good day trip and I would highly recommended it. We were meet at our location and had a pleasant drive and few stops along the way. We were amazed to see number of "tree goats", only to research later that the farmers deliberately encouraged/placed them there for tourists entertainment to earn money to support the family because of the bad draughts. Although I sympathise, I found this upsetting, hence sadly 4 stars. Our guide, Youness in Essaouria was very knowledge, enthusiastic and provide a good history of the area. I noted a negative comment from one reviewer about the guide's attitude and English being poor. This was not our experience, if writing about the same guide. Youness' English was good and he was patience with our questions. He also spoke in French for French speakers. He also recommended places to eat, when asked. I would revisit the place.

An amazing one day excursion with the driver (ISMAIL) being an amazing guy right the best driving in Morocco, I was so surprised. Happy and willing to help at all times and very friendly. The timings were precise and van was clean and with space. The only thing I didn't like and that's why I give 4 stars was the guide in Essaouira. He was snob with the English speaking people like us and didn't talk or explain everything to us with as much details as the French speaking people. His English were also rubbish and I couldn't hear or understand him.
