We got a taxi to the main road about a 2 minute walk from the square itself and quickly found The Cafe de France (Walk up the long road, to the right side of the square and you can’t miss it). We arrived early so got ourselves a drink and sat watched the world go by until our guide arrived. The main square is filled with fantastic aromas and traditional music. The way the internet portrays this square does not do it justice. Yes it is busy, yes it’s noisy, yes there are people selling things, trying to get you attention. But, it is one of the most friendly, exciting, sensory places I have ever been. Our guide took us on a historic tour of the main square and the medina, we walked through dark alleyways and through the old souk quarters, we witnessed locals in there workshops making their wares by hand, iron mongers, leather makers, etc. We finished up on a large terrace overlooking the whole square where we sat and took it all in.

The tourguide was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge that he imparted into us. I wouldn't really say we had tastings a the description says. With our tour we had some nuts, which were nice and a drink. For the latter part I was expecting a bit more. But overall it was really good

It was a lovely experience with a really enthusiastic tour guide, however I wouldn't say with tastings (it might also be that our group wasn't adventurous enough to try, although we weren't quite sure when he was joking about trying things and when not). I would recommend the tour as our guide gave us quite a bit of information about the city and as we did it on our first day we saw a lot of things we wanted to try out during the rest of our stay.
