Full description

Gain a deeper understanding of Berber culture as you embark on an unforgettable guided scenic day trip to the Atlas Mountains. Encounter enchanting countryside, get the chance to take a ride on a camel or horse, and meet locals in the villages of the Imlil Valley.  Start your day with pickup and meet your friendly local guide, who lives in one of the surrounding Berber villages. During your journey to the Atlas Mountains region, your guide will tell you about the rich culture and heritage of the Berber people as you hike between villages. Arrive in Tahnaout and visit a women-managed argan oil co-operative. Discover how the argan nut is pressed to make the famed argan oil products of Morocco.

Receive a warm welcome in Imlil with a glass of mint tea before traveling past stunning waterfalls and small Berber settlements. Pause in Tamatert to take in the views of ancient irrigated terraced fields, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees.  Feast on a traditional Moroccan meal in Ait Souka at the home of a Berber family. Relax with scenic valley views from a sun-bathed rooftop terrace.  After some rest, board your vehicle and travel through the scenic Kik Plateau, with spectacular 360-degree views. Gaze in awe at the magnificent High Atlas Mountains as you pass through stone desert, barren light brown plateaus, oases, and rolling hills.

Enjoy the serene surroundings of the Agafay Desert where you can take an optional camel or horse ride. Or, simply relax with some Moroccan mint tea for the perfect end to your day, before heading back to Marrakech.

Truly a great experience especially when in the village among the Altas Mountains. Start of with the camel ride in the Agafar desert - some expect sand desert but if you properly research it’s rock desert. Then admire complete contrast of scenery the through the green mountains with water flowing stream. Stopped for a breakfast taster then onto the hike visiting a typical traditional home enjoying Moroccan tea. Continue hiking to the restaurant and enjoy local tagine. The hike wasn’t strenuous but would avoid if walking difficulties. Great tour guide Saïd spoke good English and welcomed all and the driver Mustafa had great warmth and was comical. Overall thank you for letting me have this amazing experience in Morocco

Me and my wife had an amazing time. Our tour guide (Rachid Mazik) was excellent, respectful and very soft spoken. He made sure everyone was safe at all times. The driver (Azilal) was prompt and very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic tour. The tea, Argadin oil house, lunch, and camel ride were all top notch. I will definitely recommend this tour company. Thank you Rachid and Azilal, you guys are the real MVPs.

Saïd was a really gentle and even funny tourguide with whom the time during the day trip just flew by. I really appreciated that he took us to his Berber village in the Atlas mountains introducing us into the Berber culture and history. The other stops of the day trip (little organic argan oil production, camel ride in agafay desert) are some classical/standard touristic activities but we actually had fun. The landscape of the Atlas mountains and of the desert were fantastic and advise to everyone to go and visit these beautiful areas with Saïd!
