Get picked up from Marrakech and head out on a small-group day trip to discover the cultural and natural bounty of the Moroccan south. Journey into the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizin'Tichka Pass, which sits 7,410 feet above sea level. Leave behind vegetation-rich mountains to arrive in the desert region on the other side where the famous fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou lies. Visit the town's multiple kasbahs, fortresses created for the town's defense and to signal the wealth of the merchants that lived in them.  Continue on to the village of Telouet located in a fertile valley surrounded by palm, fig, and olive trees. Learn how the town's history is intertwined with that of its former French colonizers. Visit its unique kasbah, which features original zellij tiles decorated with the Jewish Star of David and holds well-preserved silks and other grand remnants of the El Pacha Glaoui family. Return to Marrakech along the famous caravan routes that ran from the Sahara Desert through the Atlas Mountains.
