Full description
You’ll be picked up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 07:20 to begin your 2-day desert excursion. On the way to southern Morocco, you’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’ Tichka Pass (2,260 meters in altitude). The drive takes you along zigzagging roads as you enjoy the views of the Berber villages of Imouzzar Valley. Stop to explore Ait Benhaddou, one of the best-preserved villages in southern Morocco. This fortified village was built by the Ait Aissa tribe in the 15th century for caravan traders traveling from Timbuktu to Andalusia via Marrakech and Tangier. The village served as a natural setting for several international movies including The Gladiators, Ali Baba, Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia. Enjoy a guided visit to the top of the hill that dominates the whole area. Afterwards, you’ll head to Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah with a short break at the entrance of the city to see the cinema studios and old movie sets. You’ll also have a break for lunch before continuing to Zagora via Agdez and through the Draa Valley. Your camel ride starts about a kilometer from Zagora. Enjoy the sunset along the way as you ride to the nomadic camp in the Nekhla dunes. Dinner will be served at the camp and you’ll spend the night in a private tent. On the second day, wake up early to enjoy a spectacular sunrise followed by breakfast. You’ll have the option of a camel trek back to meet your driver. The drive back will take you along the Draa Valley, with breaks to take in the views and for lunch, before returning to Marrakech via Ouarzazate.

Well-rounded experience for two days! While there was a lot of driving, our driver Lahcen was really nice, the van was comfortable, and we we had a lot of stops and bathroom breaks. We got to see various sites all around Morocco and the overnight campsite was in excellent condition. Highlight was the camel experience! My only note would be to bring lots of cash because I there are multiple guides along the tour who expect tips.

I'm currently in Morocco and was recommended this excursion. I wasn't disappointed with the recommendation. I was taken from my hotel into the desert, i was met with camels and keepers. The atmosphere was amazing, food was very good and seeing the night sky was something I will never forget! Big thanks to my guide Alex too

you have to know it's a long drive but it's totally worth it we stopped in atlas mountains to appreciate the beauty of it. make sure to take power banks as you will take plenty of pics and videos. the camel rirde and the camp gave us amazing experoence even though we wished it was a little bit of water to at least brush teeth. anyway it all made it special. the starts the music food everything was just amaizng. the only not such a nice thing that happened during the trip: we were young people starving so when the food arrived we got real excited and the guy made not a nice comment being like 'don't you have food in your country??' instead of appreciate the fact we were so excited to eat and that it looked delicious... idk. all table was left quite disguised after that.
