Full description
You’ll be picked up in Marrakech from where you'll head out in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle on a drive across the largest mountains in North Africa. En route you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and fertile valleys. This 10-hour trip is priced for a group of up to 4 persons. See the salt mines in the Ounila Valley, the Pacha Glaoui Kasbah, and Telouet. Visit the Ksar (Castle) of Ait-Ben-Haddou, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The village of Ait-Ben-Haddou is situated on a hill in the Souss Massa Draa region, along the Ouarzazate River. It was an important stop for traders carrying gold, salt, and slaves along the main caravan route through the Sahara. Both Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth were filmed here. The entire lower part of the village was rebuilt, and in recent years, more controlled restoration was carried out under the watchful eye of UNESCO. Lunch will be in a local restaurant in Ait-Ben-Haddou, where you’ll enjoy your meal with panoramic views of the Kasbah. You'll then return to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka pass.

We cannot be more satisfied with the service! The tour was managed by Maroc Expeditions and our driver was Mohamed, a very professional young man with excellent driving skills, polite, attentive, patient and super informative plus his grasp of Spanish is great! We saw all that we wanted and more and we ate at a very nice restaurant near Ait Ben Haddou that recommended by him. Nothing was too much trouble and the long way from/to Marrakech was a fun one thanks to Mohamed good conversation and the super comfortable and clean vehicle we got. All in all a memorable day. Gracias Mohamed! Rosa.

Moustafa deserves a star! Our driver was at the location in time, in a clean, safe car and super friendly. We started off with a laugh and we didn’t stop! He understood we don’t like mass tourisme and he made regular stops for photo’s and toilet breaks at more ‘quiet’ places. Only disappointment on 12hrs together-lunchplace was very poor! But in all honesty-Ait Ben Haddou is so extremely busy and touristic, that in hindsight I think Moustafa maybe took us to the best out of all the worst places there!

the guide was nice, spoke English but sometimes was hard to understand. When the advert says lunch is provided ... it is not. Ensure to take money with you for lunch which is approximately £10 per head. The actual sights were incredible and saw such a different side of Morocco.
