Full description

Swap vibrant Marrakech for rural mountain scenery with this unmissable full-day guided tour to the High Atlas Mountains. Experience Berber culture, stories and traditions, soak in breathtaking landscapes, ride a camel, and enjoy a traditional lunch at a Berber family home.

Drive to the verdant Imlil Valley, stopping at Tahanaout to visit an argan oil cooperative. Learn more about this traditional local industry and discover how women turn the argan nut into different argan oil products, one of Morocco's famous exports.

Continue to Asni, where there's a traditional Berber Souk market on Saturdays, before finally arriving in Imlil. Sip a welcoming glass of mint tea while enjoying spectacular views and meet your local guide to start a tour on foot.

Venture to the largest and highest village in Imlil Valley, passing waterfalls, cherry trees, and tiny Berber villages. Your local guide will share insights into Berber culture as you pass ancient irrigated terraces growing barley, corn, and vegetables.

Sit down to incredible views and a delicious traditional Moroccan lunch at a Berber family guest house. Rest up before beginning the return journey down the other side of the valley, where your driver will be waiting.

Stop at the main trailhead of the Moulay Brahim Gorges to enjoy a short camel ride before the return trip to Marrakech. This full-day adventure will drop you back in the city in the early evening.

First of all, the driver Ibrahim drove very well, he drove safely and unhurriedly. The destinations we were driven past were very worthwhile. Our guide Lahcen was very friendly and was able to tell us a lot when we asked questions. He was very sweet and also a bit shy, so if you wanted to know a bit more about the area it is useful to ask questions. The group we spent this day with was very nice and the guide was very nice. All in all, a very successful trip that we highly recommend!

The driver, Ibrahim, was great very fast. And the tour guide, Saed, was amazing - very great, clear explanations about everything on the tour of the mountain, stopping at good points to tell us about the area and take photos. The mountain view is definitely something to see if you’re up for hiking a little bit.

I can’t recommend this trip enough! Our tour guide Lahcen was so friendly, welcoming and attentive and really made the trip special. Our driver Hasan was also great - pick up and drop off was easy and smooth. The hike up to the waterfall was breathtaking, through the small village and mountains. The hike was also not as tiring as we expected! It was also great visiting the women making argon oil. It was all topped off by a fab 3 course lunch The camel ride was also great and we could tell the camels are well looked after!!
