These three sultans were largely responsible for the Palacio Nazaríes – the 14th-century miracle that shines as the Alhambra’s jewel. To amble through these chambers and corridors is to step into Al-Andalus, to feel the energy of a civilization that held such a significant portion of Europe in its grip for eight centuries. Its matters of state still whisper in the Mexuar – a meeting place for ministers, all floral tiles and tapering columns, whose later conversion into a chapel could not conceal its Moorish origins. Its afternoons at play still haunt the Patio de los Leones – an intricate courtyard, the core of royal life under Muhammed V, where fountains splash. And its sophistication still flickers around the Palacio de Comares.

What people are saying about Marbella

Alicia was our tour guide for our walking tour around Ronda, and she could not have been more awesome! We loved her!! She was so sweet and patient, and suggested the best routes for the best sights and views that could also accommodate my 80 year old father who has severe mobility issues. She was very knowledgeable about Ronda, having grown up there, and her English was awesome, from having lived in England for about 6 years. She also new we were avid photographers, so she took us to the best spots for wonderful photos, all while explaining the history and current culture of the area. We would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting a perfect few hours in Ronda!

This private taxi and private tour was the best! Our driver (Jose) tailored our drive to our interests (lookout point [Placeta de S. Nicolás] and great espresso) and allotted time for us to visit city center. Bring a taxi allowed us to enter otherwise restricted areas. Our tour guide (Jose Francisco)of the Alhambra was extremely knowledgeable (everyone of my many questions was answered) and accommodating to our interests. He allowed some decisions for our itinerary. I take a lot of photos (used 2 batteries) and Jose showed us where to get the best shots. This tour is expensive but worth every penny. It was the highlight of our visit.

This was the most fantastic tour I’ve ever had! Very personable driver who spoke fluent English was waiting for me at cruise terminal and whisked me away to Alhambra where I met my guide who was fluent in Arabic as well as English, and very knowledgeable in Islamic culture and history, which enabled him to provide detailed explanations of the Alhambra’s unique design, artwork and symbolism throughout the palaces. Tour time also allowed me to explore Granada’s old town before being returned to ship. I highly recommend.

Thomas and Antonio were top guides, a lot of knowledge and super nice. Was a very successful day with exciting impressions. Thank you Thomas and Antonio!

The tour was fantastic. Our guide was nice and chill. He took us to some of his favorite places that we would not see on a preset tour.
