Great tour!!! However, not suitable for the inexperienced. A bit of fitness in the gym is not enough here, don't underestimate it! I wanted to break off halfway through, but our guide Marten encouraged me to keep walking, and the weather played along despite the rain forecast and provided fantastic views! From our original 10 pax group only 4 pay made it to the end and I was the only woman in the group! Proper hiking clothing and especially rain pants and a rain jacket is highly recommended, as is waterproof shoes! We had everything from rain, sun and clouds to strong winds on our tour yesterday! But there is nothing nicer than overcoming your weaker self!!!!

Stewart of Adrift was a superb guide who set a pace according to our group whilst ensuring we completed the walk in seven and a half hours. A tough trek at times but Stew kept us going with information and encouragement. So pleased we booked a guide and we certainly were fortunate to have selected Adrift. Robyn took us to start and picked us up at end so there was no waiting at all. So good we went with Stew on a 90 min sunset walk that evening.

The most beautiful hiking experience I ever had. It is unbelievably beautiful though you need to have a very good fitness level. We were not able to catch up with others but Hiro, our guide was absolutely fantastic. He supported us and took care of us throughout the hike. Will come back to see sunrise during summer.

An exceptional hike of 21km in beautiful weather without a cloud with our experienced guide Stew who adapts to everyone's pace. Surely one of the most beautiful New Zealand site.

An excellent option for the wonderful hike in Tongariro! I strongly advise everyone, as long as they understand English well.
