Blue Bay: Half-Day Snorkeling Trip with Creole Picnic Lunch

1. Blue Bay: Half-Day Snorkeling Trip with Creole Picnic Lunch

Explore the Blue Bay Marine Park by glass-bottom boat and snorkeling in the largest marine life and coral reserve in Mauritius, including a relaxing lunch on a private beach. Your half-day excursion starts from the Blue Bay Public Beach in the southeast of Mauritius. Board the glass-bottom boat and head out into the Blue Bay Marine Park to observe its underwater diversity. Sail along the marvelous seaside from Point d’Esny to visit the old shipwreck, located in the turquoise lagoon of the Marine Park. Here, you’ll have your first chance to go snorkeling and discover this underwater world for yourself.   Then, head to the private island Ile de deux Cocos for lunch. Relax on one of the public beaches on the island where you’ll be offered a delicious typical Creole picnic. Choose between a traditional Creole curry prepared with fish, chicken, or vegetables served with rice and salad. A large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served as well—don’t skip the famous Jungle Cocktail.   After lunch, take up to 2 hours to relax on the beach and enjoy the beautiful environment on this private island. After your break, the crew will pick you up and take you back to the Marine Park lagoon, where you’ll have another opportunity to snorkel among the fish and coral, before heading back to the starting point.

Mauritius: Catamaran Cruise from Bluebay to Ile aux Cerfs

2. Mauritius: Catamaran Cruise from Bluebay to Ile aux Cerfs

For a lovely relaxing day at sea, spend a full day on this catamaran excursion to the heavenly island of Ile aux Cerfs. Your catamaran departs from Pointe Jerome, near the authentic village of Mahebourg and the Marine Park of Blue Bay, which is protected under the International Ramsar Convention. You can snorkel and swim before visiting the Grande Riviere Sud Est waterfall in its beautiful natural setting.  Here, some 18th-century ramparts can still be seen. They were witness to some tough corsair activities and naval skirmishes. In 1810, tis was the scene of the ”Battle of Vieux Grand Port” between the French and the English.  Enjoy a BBQ buffet prepared and served on board by your friendly crew. This consists of the famous smoked marlin mousse, grilled fish, chicken and sausages, rice and potato salads, crudités, freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, and coffee.

What people are saying about Mahébourg

great private trip. unfortunately we drove the whole time with the motor and not with the sails. the 3 tried very hard and we were able to organize the whole day and schedule as we wanted. Really great experience

a truly incredible experience thanks to Yannick who was our guide and who shared his knowledge with us. consistent with the description and we recommend to anyone who loves snorkeling and apnea diving

Very good experience! It is well worth doing: the brutal landscape, the best snorkeling on the island, delicious food and the unbeatable treatment of the guide.

A great experience. Our guide Yannick was really good - interesting talking with and very helpful. Nice snorkeling, delightful drinks, delicious food.

As expected and as shown in the Foto (honest). Way better in my opinion than the „luxurious” catamaran rides in ils aux cerf.
