Full description
In the crystal clear waters of Madeira Island, swim with dolphins in their natural habitat. With assistance from an expert team of guides and divers, learn about the specific approach techniques needed to interact with these amazingly intelligent creatures. Madeira's regulations for swimming with wild dolphins are quite strict in order to preserve the subtle natural balance that these magnificent animals deserve. It may be possible to swim with 2 species of dolphins: Common Dolphins and Spotted Dolphins. As you enter the water, you remain safely connected to the boat at all times. Glide along the waters and swim with the dolphins in front, below and next to you as you admire these beautiful mammals in their natural habitat and make unforgettable memories.  As you swim, your guide will take photos of you with the dolphins as a reminder of the experience.

The staff is very dedicated and very knowledgeable about the animals of the sea. The tour usually lasted 2 hours, but since we only found whales and dolphins with whom we were not allowed to swim, the guides tried very hard to show us dolphins with whom we were allowed to swim. After 4 hours the time had come and we could finally swim with dolphins (the dolphins swim with you)! It was a great experience!

Unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins, but we saw whales that were incredibly close. It was a great trip and was a lot of fun. Cecile and her team are very nice and competent and gave a lot of information. We'd love to come back the next time we visit the island!

It is important on the tour that you can only swim with certain types of dolphins. Unfortunately we only met species with which it was not possible to swim. Nevertheless it was a great experience and we were given a little more time on the sea to visit another group. However, it is important to protect yourself with sufficient sunscreen.
