Meet your guide by City Hall on Market Square and enter the heart of the medieval city. Embark on a 2.5-hour walking tour of the city center, where every house has a fascinating story. Take a look at the unique Black House, built for the Italian tax collector, Tomaso Alberti in 1577. Admire the historic façade of the late Renaissance townhouse of Bandinelli Palace, and discover the former residence of the wealthiest citizen in the whole history of Lviv at Kornyakt Palace, built for a Greek merchant in the late 16th century. Stroll down the narrow streets to explore the Armenian Quarter, with a unique Armenian church famous for its silent and mystical atmosphere. Continue to the Ruthenian Quarter, where the main Orthodox church can be found. Journey past the remains of the defensive walls to the Jewish Quarter. End at the remarkable Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet on Liberty Avenue (Prospekt Svodoby) near the River Poltva, and learn why the waterway is now hidden from view.
